What tower is currently being remodeled at the Disneyland hotel?

Can anyone tell me (who has stayed there recently), if the hotel is a mess due to the construction or not? Did you ever take the monorail at the Downtown Disney station early in the morning? Are all of the monorails running right now? Anyone know?

Thanks!

Kathy

Dreams Tower is being renovated, one half at a time. I've only seen it from the outside and it's not bad at all, just a few walking paths blocked off.

All 3 Monorails are currently running, Blue, Orange, and Red.

We never take the monorail in the morning. The monorail does not start until rope drop. So you are in Tomorrowland later than those at the turnstile

FWIW, the following link has some photos of the Dreams Tower renovation at the DLH:
The Dreams Tower renovation is scheduled to be finished by June 2010.

Here are 3 of those photos (the photos were taken around Sept. 29, 2009) :

That huge renovation we told you about months ago that was coming to the Disneyland Hotel has finally commenced.

The renovated rooms sport the blue windows while the old rooms sport the faux balconies.
All these windows will be turning blue as time goes on.

So now when you see those windows you can think back to how you saw pictures of them being installed. =)

I was there yesterday. They are much further along in the "window replacement" portion of the renovations. I saw about the top 5 floors had been done.

The monorail station is not affected at all by the work being done. It is running normally.

Does anyone know if any portion of the new windows can be opened? I'd hate to think they are just solid windows...I like listening to the sounds of the park, pool, etc. and I like "fresh" air too....

I have read that they are solid windows and will no longer open. :sad2:

No, the new windows will NOT open. It's primarily a soundproofing issue, but there have been a few "jumpers" from the windows over the years. Will prevent that...

I find it hard to believe jumpers are a reason why..... there are hotels around much higher and cheaper than the DLH! I think this is one of those rare times I just may send a note along, ask for an official reason why....surely they could have at least the small windows slide open even a few inches.....
