We aren't quite sure where we are eating yet but what type of attire is expected at most restaurants?

At almost every WDW restaurant you can wear what you'd wear to the parks, including t-shirts and shorts. Victoria & Albert's is the only place that really requires dressier clothes - jackets for men, etc. A couple of the nicer restaurants (Calif. Grill, Bistro de Paris, maybe others) don't allow tank tops. You might see quite a few people in some of the nicer restaurants in polo shirts and khakis, but it's by no means required and you'll probably see a wide range of attire wherever you go.

it may depend on what you would wear to the parks..torn,dirty jeans, stained tee shirts ect would be out of place at most of the resort sit down places but then if you are planning on wearing torn dirty jeans and stained tee shirts you probably wouldn't be asking anyway.

most sit down resorts i would wear capris or nicer shorts, not necessarily jean shorts just cause it would feel a little more dressed up to me. i just worn nicer capris to the park that day and went from there..(we were there in winter so nice shorts probably for now). most people were dressed about the same, i can't remember seeing many in jeans and tee shirts at say ohana's but maybe earlier in the evening they would have been.
