Yeah, we´re leaving in less than two weeks!!!

But, what should I pack? I´m trying to pack as little as possible, since we have to change terminals in London and are travelling with 4 children, but I want to have everything we need. Of course I´ll also be doing TONS of shopping in California :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

What can we expect the weather to be like? Will we need jackets or will fleece´s be enough? Will DD´s be able to wear skirts and dresses?

Thanks

I would pack layers - the weather is unpredictable this time of year, but it is always cool in the mornings and evenings in California, even when the days are sweltering. Plus, like another posted mentioned on a weather thread yesterday, it always feels hotter when you are in DL with all of those people and all of that cement/blacktop under your feet. You should be close enough to get the weather forecast online now for your whole trip. I like to look at a few sites - weather.com & accuweather.com, then split the difference if there is any.

What a trip! I bet you are excited!

I'm in Toronto, Canada and it's 13C today (55F). It is absolutely gorgeous for us, and all the girls are wearing their spring skirts with thin nylons. They couldn't wait to shed the winter gear. We're still wearing light spring jackets - but it's all we need in the mornings and evenings too.

The temperatures are all relative. The locals say you need warm jackets, but considering we're wearing less than that right now.... I can't see it being colder there.

Since you're from Iceland, I think you'll find it pretty mild.

Great question! We are 10 days later than you and I am wondering if we should bring pants! I am thinking not & if it is really THAT cool, we can go shopping.

Have a great time!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: so true! 55F is cold winter for us and definitely we bundle up!

That IS so true - I forget how used to the warm weather we are. If it's 55 degrees, I'm freezing!

Be sure to bring a sweatshirt or jacket for the evenings. I'm from Oregon and it can be COLD at night. I think a lot of this can come from getting a lot of sun during the day. California has been having wacky weather like most of the west coast. Bring layers and you'll be fine.

I agree, layers. We're from Ariz. and for us it does'nt warm up til about noonish. Can be down right chilly at night. Not that i'm complaining but at 9:00PM in Tucson it can still be 90 someodd degrees. :thumbsup2

You should be fine with your fleece and yes your DD's should be fine in a skirt or dress. My DD prefers shorts, but if your DD is use to wearing skirts or dresses that should be fine. I would just bring the clothes that they will feel the most comfortable in.

We usually start off in the morning with shorts and a sweat shirt. In the evenings we might change into pants, but it just depends on what time we go over to the park and how late we are going to be at the park. We usually wear the same pants a couple of times, because we only have them on for a couple of hours.
