I think you'll be fine. I've seen people at Broadway shows wearing ripped jeans and t-shirt splattered in paint!!! (Not that that's really the way to go!) But I think nice looking jeans or khakis and a sweater, or maybe a button down shirt would be nice!

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I don't really think jeans are appropriate for something like that no matter how many people are doing it. I think khakis are much better for that kind of thing, either with a button down or a nice sweater if it's cold.

As far as comfortable goes, just count your blessings that men don't wear heels. ;)

I go to quite a few shows.

For a 2pm show, I wear jeans. (I don't want to look like a tourist;) .) We take the train in & walk all over mid-town. I only wear my sneakers or my berkies. If you don't want to wear jeans, than casual pants & a shirt/sweater is fine.

Enjoy the show!!!

Another person who thinks jeans to a matinee is fine. We go to Broadway shows fairly often. If it's a matinee we dress in nice jeans, shoes (not sneakers) and nice tops. I have seen people wearing shorts and t-shirts, but to each his own! :) Night shows we get a little more dressed up but not in formal wear like I have seen.

Have a great time!
