Hubby and I will be travelling alone this trip. What should we plan to wear to dinner at each of the restaurants at night? We are scheduled for the late seating?
We've cruised with Royal Caribbean, but they seem to be a little more..."relaxed" than DCL. Should we expect to dress up a little more for dinner? With RCCL it was khakis and a polo shirt on most nights for my husband, then a jacket and tie on the formal night. I wore a pant suit or dress every night.
Is Disney pretty much the same? A little dressier?
We watched a Travel Channel documetary and everybody looked pretty well-dressed - LOL!
Are you on a 7 day or 3/4 day itinerary? The Wonder trips are more casual with the majority of people in polos/khakis for the men, and slacks/tops for the women.
7 day trips include a formal and semi-formal night. About 40% or so of the men wear tuxes, and about 60% of the women are in dress gowns (long or cocktail length) for formal night. About 10% of people don't dress up at all, and the remainder are usually in some variation of church attire (suits and dresses). Regular dining room meal attire typical ranges from khaki/polo shirts for the men through open necked shirt/sport jacket with an occasional suit. Women usually wear sundresses or dress shirt/sweater combinations. They request a jacket for Palo, and require a dress shirt for men there. That seems to be the only place that the dress code is enforced.
All DCL itineraries request no shorts or jeans in the dining rooms.
One final note is that the dining rooms always seem cold to me, so I recommend taking a neutral sweater that you can throw on if you're chilly.
At Tritons I wore a suit jacket and collared shirt, my wife a dress, and at PC and Animators I wore polo shirt and Dockers, my wife wore a nice blouse and kahki pants.
On our 7 night Magic people were nicely dressed. I'd say at least 80% of them. By nicely i mean they put a little effort into it, not slapped on something over a swimsuit and called it a dinner dress.
