My 17 y/o DD is going to a jungle themed party tonight. It is not a costume party but attire is supposed to be jungle-themed. She said that a lot of the girls, of course, are going to wear the "sexy Jane" kind of get up and she's not going to wear that. Some of the guys are dressing like Tarzan. So, she's wondering "What can I wear?" I"m stumped. I mean, people don't really wear much in the jungle do they? Oh, and it it's got to be "cute" or "cool.";)

Leopard print cat-ear headband? You can buy them in the dollar stores right now for halloween...

I would wear a "safari-type" outfit: khaki shorts, shirt, hat (if you've got one), wear binoculars around your neck.

This sounds like a fun and easy get up:thumbsup2 She could be a female version of Steve Irwin and bring in a plastic croc too. If she does decide this, make sure she says Beaut a lot:lmao:

You're lucky she doesn't want to wear the sexy Jane get up! I would suggest that she head over to the mall and go find an animal print shirt. They are everywhere this season (and you can find them pretty cheap!). OR (and this suggestion could get too sexy Jane, but bear with me!) go to your local fabric store and buy some form of animal print fabric. Then maybe you can make a cute one shoulder dress, or a strapless dress, depending on your sewing abilities.

Hope she has fun, regardless of what she wears! pixiedust:

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I will run them by her when she gets home (she's taking the SATs this morning).

The khaki shorts thing sounds fun but I think it falls into the "costume" category too much. I think it just has to be jungle themed attire. Guess we will be hitting the mall later today (party is tonight). My sewing machine is broke so that is out. I was also thinking along the lines of sewing up something really quick like a sarong skirt but that's out for today.

You could also check out your local Party City store (or anywhere that sells Halloween costumes!). They will definitley have jungle themed costumes there! Plus, she could re-wear it for Halloween if she goes to any parties (if that's acceptable according to teenage standards nowadays.. In my teen years, that would've been a no-no  )

It can't be a costume unfortunately. That would be too easy.

Gp find an animal print top of some kind. There are a lot of them around lately.

Target had some cute animal print flats.

Animal print top with matching flats and black pants in between...cute.:thumbsup2
