Higuys.I am looking for some tips on what clothing you would suggest we pack for our forthcoming trip in February. We have never been before and therefore have no idea what the weather will be like.I have seen in the travel brochures that the high is about 72f and the low about 50f.What would you suggest. :cool1:

Nylon jogging suits worked great for our family last January. You can wear a long (or short) sleeved tee underneath, and if you get wet you dry fast. At night we wore polartec vests over those and the kids wore jackets over theirs. We would definitely do that again. Have a good trip! :wizard:

It depends a bit on which end of February you are going. We were there towards the end and wore shorts and tees almost every day with cardi/jumper early and late. I think be prepared for a fairly wide range of temperatures, but you can always go and buy something if the weather surprises you. :teeth: By the way we had 2 wet days, but that was unusual I gather. We needed sunscreen though1 :sunny:

I would pack for a wide range of temps! I'm from Seattle, so if it's 60 or above I am in shorts or a skirt, but at night I like to have jeans and a light weight jacket. We've been during Feb/March too many times to count and the one thing I never forget is a rain coat...I did say I was from Seattle :umbrella: , right? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Alreet.

We were there for the first 2 weeks of March in 2002 and had 1 day where it was 55F and felt cold, the next day was 64F and sunny but still felt colder than that, the other 12 days were all in the 70s to low 80s but some nights and early mornings were abit on the chilly side but we had no rain at all. There was a lack of humidity on some days which meant you felt cold when wet but warm under water, but then the humidity picked up again and it was fine.

We went again last year at the same time, travelling on 26th february for 2 weeks. The weather was much more unsettled last year than when we went in 2002. On the day we arrived it was very warm and cloudy, but we were awoken at about 2AM by torrential rain hitting the balcony roof. The rain lasted all day and into the following night, although the temperature was still about 75-80F. After that we had mixed bag of weather, with a couple of days as low as 52F, some days where it creaked towards 70F by mid afternoon but had struggled to do so, 4 days in total of rain and 4 days of very hot sunshine. The nights and mornings were much colder last year than in 2002 and the poor weather made headline news on the local tv stations.

The temperatures don't always reflect the real feel in Florida. At home 60F is pleasent and warm, 70F is sweltering and 80F is unbearable record breaking.
In Florida 60F and 70F always seem colder, i don't know why but it could be because in order for the temperature to drop to that the wind has to come from the North and must therefore have a bit of a bite to it (it certainly did on the days when the max was 52-54F as there was a biting wind!).

A mixture of light layers, jeans, shorts and a fleece should see you okay, but the weather is so unpredicatable that it could be 80F all day every day and just cool down slightly at night. We did have a couple of nights last year where it did stay warm and we were even able to eat on the outside patio at TGI Fridays one night, so you never know.

When we were at WDW in March 2004 we encountered various types of weather from being downright cold one day to very warm the next. I ended up packing shorts, jeans, t-shirts and sweatshirts and we also took our winter coats. The only thing I did was to remove our liner in our winter coat since I didn't think we would need it. I also packed light weight gloves. This time of the year you really need to pack a variety of clothes because the weather changes so much, and as others have said when it is 60 degrees here that feels like summer to us in March but down in Florida it is down right cold.

We have been going in the first part of Feb. for the past few years and I would sugest, jeans sweatshirt, shorts tshirst, and those little knit mittens... I forgot mine last year and we needed them in the morning! We come from Michigan so if it was cold in the morning for us then it was cold in the morning! That is my suggestion!!! Have a great time! :flower: :flower:

Perhaps its me and because I live in Canada. But we layered. I wore capris most of the week or jeans, I wore a light jacket sometimes in the morning if it was cool but by the time we finished breakfast I would drop my jacket in the room when we went back to brush our teeth. We found it great it was 70-80's the whole week last year. We are watching the weather daily and if it does get really cold its a good exuse for me to buy a new sweatshirt :)
