I thought there was a thread going around last week about this, but I have yet to find it. We are going in December and I needed to know if it is cool in the evenings and if so how cool. What the daily temps are like.
We are going 12/3/05 - 12/11/05. Thanks in advance for any advice.

It just depends. It is so unpredictable. Bring a few of everything and some sweatshirts for layering. I have heard one year, it got down in the 30's and people were wearing gloves and hats so it can be cold.

My plan is to bring some thermal underwear for all of us. If we don't need it, great, but if we do we'll be thankful!

I am hoping for 75 degree days and 50 degree nights at least, but I guess we won't know until we get there! I think the averages are about that with very little rain.

We went last Dec (12/5-12/11) . I was expecting crazy diff. in temps so I packed jeans, shorts, a sweatshirt, sometihng for every variable. It was about 87 every day that week, maybe 83-85 at night. It was great b/c it was snowing up here in NY. But basically, be prepared for anytihng. I heard the day after we left the temp dropped to like 60.

Check the weather 2 days before you leave. Our trip last December was originally supposed to be 80's while we were there and steadily dropped with each day getting close until it was upper 60's low 70's at best. Still very nice.

Bring clothes that you can easily layer.

Yeah, we were there that year. The year before we were in shorts and T-Shirt. I didn't even bring jackets for us! My DD was 6 months old. Fortunatly my MIL is an over packer! She had brought extra clothes and jackets for DD.

As a general rule, I would plan on long pants and long shirts for the day and adding a sweater or jacket for evenings.

I'm also going the 3--11th. I went these same dates last year and both Saturdays were cool but the rest of the week was really nice! I was in shorts during the date and pants at night. On both Saturdays, I wore pants because it was a little cooler. I don't even remember it raining! Keep your fingers crossed for good weather this year!! :)

you can easily wear a pull over at night. We wear shorts and have a windbreaker to throw on when it gets chilly. The last two years we haven't needed more than that. I even wear shorts. :earboy2:

Me too! We were there the same week and I could not believe how HOT it was! -- It didn't even cool off at night, it was definitely better than snow, but I was still hoping it would be a little cooler in early December!

All you can do is be prepared for anything. If you go in December, you gotta pack tank tops and shorts AND jeans and sweatshirts. Cuz ya just never know what you're gonna get! :rotfl:

It doesnt get really cold here in FL till Late Jan to Early Feb. I really dont think you will need thermal underwear anytime of the year. Being here in FL. I tend to wear Jeans and t-shirt with a light weight pull over and seem to be just fine and I get cold easy.

We were there that week as well. I packed similar to the way we packed for our Alaska Cruise - lots of layers. Items that could easily be added on or taken off. Luckily we were in a DVC Villa and had the washer and dryer because I did not pack nearly enough t-shirts and shorts for my DDs so I was washing clothing dailey. :)

If you want to be sure of having the right thing, as someone said pack everything from shorts to jeans, tshirts to sweatshirts!

My kids went swimming in the daytime on the days we didn't visit parks, other than that we found shorts and tshirts were great during the day. Most nights we wanted a jacket (even if we were okay with shorts on the bottom half). I was glad to have gloves for the kids and myself when we sat to watch Spectro or the nighttime fireworks. When we sat through CP, we ended up getting pretty chilled (probably due to the sitting still) and I regretted not having on long pants.

I've been to Disney World about 10 times from the weekend after Thanksgiving through the first week of Dec. Some years it was so cold the CM's wore parkas, other times it was hot enough for shorts and swimming. Just check weather.com or weatherunderground a few days before you go, like others have said. I truly think that December is a great time to go.

Take the long johns. It's better to be prepared than not. We were there in 2000 and it got very cold. We're from Michigan so we had our winter coats with us and believe me we were glad. First couple of days were nice but by the time we left we were wearing jackets, mittens and hats all the time. Especially when we were at Epcot for the fireworks. It was in the low 30's and windy. :earsgirl:
