We are going on Sept 26 for 5 days - DH, me and DS ( toddler ).

I mostly wear jeans -will it be ok to wear jeans all day comfortably w/out getting too hot ? Any one have any suggestions?

Will I need to carry a light jacket for us for the evenings ?

TIA !

We have had a really strange year here in California. I am not sure exactly how So Cal is, I am about 3 hours north but we haven't had a hot summer and just this week we have had a terrible heat wave so it could mean a longer than normal summer.

Generally I would say that if you are not a hot blooded person, you would be ok with jeans. Me, I would be hot in jeans. It gets hot in the park. But the evenings will cool off a lot. Personally, I would pack shorts or capris and t-shirts for the days and bring a sweatshirt for nighttime.

I typically wear jeans and capris, sometimes (but rarely). I pair my jeans with a tank top and some flip flops and I'm good to go. I'll take a light jacket if it's chilly in the morning and just in case I need in the evening.

For my lil' one (toddler as well), I'll dress her in pants and a light jacket if it's chilly in the morning. I pack her shorts for her to change into when it gets hot enough. I put her back in pants and take her jacket for the evening.

I usually wear jeans and a tank top and have a sweatshirt/jacket for nights. It gets chilly but it should be nice during the day. However as previously mentioned this year the weather has been very unpredictable. For instance every day this week it has been 100+ degrees, and while we do get hot it's not usually 115 hot....LOL Of course I am about 6 hrs from the parks so the weather down south may be different but be prepared for anything.

HI! What can you recommend for San Diego weather for the first week of September? We will be going on day trips to the Zoo & Sea World.

Thanks!

Thanks for the tips everyone .I am really glad that jeans will do :)
Are flip-flops comfortable to wear and walk around all day ?
I just hope the weather is not scorching HOT in September. But its best to be prepared :)

I am a flip flop girl and love them in the parks. My feet swell, so shoes are horribly painful to wear. My feet even swell too much for crocs. I made the switch to flip flops and am in heaven now! I stock up on them in the summer because I am Colorado and we can't buy them in the winter here.

Where do you live? That will make a difference as to what is comfortable for you. If you are in a cooler state you will be just fine in the evenings. It is what your used to that matters.

I cannot do flip flops all day at DL and I love flip flops!!! They are my normal summer shoe, but not at DL. I wear comfortable tennis shoes for walking around the parks all day.

My Daughter & I were in DL last September & I only bought jeans with me. It was so hot that I was actually sweating inside my jeans, and I am not a sweaty person. I would definetly pack some lighter clothes!

Like others have mentioned, the weather has been quite strange this summer - that goes for San Diego as well. For the most part, it's been pretty darn hot these past couple of weeks (in the 80's). I'm thinking that this pattern should be the same next month as well. Shorts, capris, jeans are all acceptable attire. Keep in mind that it does get breezy at Sea World since it's right by the water, so make sure to take a jacket. As a side note, when we go and I know we'll stay till the later afternoon, I make sure to take a jacket and sometimes pants for my lil' one. Hope you enjoy your visit to San Diego and Disneyland!!!

If you get the right ones. I've had plenty of experiences where my feet have became swollen and even blistered:scared1: for wearing the incorrect sandals/flip flops. After plenty of experimenting, my go-to flip flops are Roxy brand.:lovestruc Their cute, comfortable and haven't let me down!:)

I would not plan on jeans during the day in September...but I would wear them in the evening. The temp drops when the sun goes down.
I'd follow the PP's idea--jeans for early morning and evening, shorts/capris for daytime. You will want a jacket or sweatshirt for evenings. I, personally, prefer fleece to standard sweatshirts--they don't absorb the damp if the marine layer rolls in.

I do flip flops all day at DLR/DCA, it doesn’t bother my feet, they are used to it! I do wear jeans and a t-shirt, I do take a sweatshirt just in case. :thumbsup2

We will be there the same week as you. I am not going to plan on packing until a few days before the trip because of the crazy summer we've had here in California. It could be really hot or it could be mild. I will check the weather reports when we get closer to the dates. We were there last September, a little earlier in the month, and it was beautiful weather, I think jeans would have been comfortable - I'm a capri gal myself.

As for flip flops... I will wear them all day, every day (my wonderful Fit Flops) at the parks because that is what I am comfortable in.

Personally, I would bring a pair of shorts just in case. Weather in September can be unpredictable (we've already seen that this year), but it does depend on how thin your blood is. I can easily be wearing shorts in 50-degree weather (as long as I've got a sweatshirt on). We were at the parks mid-November for HB's birthday. Waiting at the DD monorail station one morning, temps in the 50s. HB and I are in shorts and sweatshirt, the monorail attendees (california natives in their early 20s) were wearing parkas, gloves, scarves and earmuffs!! So, it's what you're used to.
