So we are about three weeks from our world trip. I was just wondering what everyone else uses to carry their necessities around with, i.e. backpack/purse or fanny pack. I think we are going to use a backpack, but where do we put it when we go on the rides? and what about the heat/humidity with something this large?

Here's a great thread on that subject...but beware...there's lots of great ideas here and you may end up wanting several of these bags!;)

Bags for the Parks

I bought a Baggallini messenger in crinkle nylon for my upcoming trip. I think it's a great size without being too big. I'm not a huge fan of having to take a backpack off for rides. I can just slide the messenger bag to the front and not worry about forgetting it.

HTH!:)

I've used the mini back packs...and a fanny pack...both work fine...and you can keep both on during the rides....

Most rides have a place to put our bag and if they don't, you can just put it at your feet and put your foot through the strap just to keep it in place. I always carry a very small backpack and have never had a problem on any ride. Many people carry larger backpacks on the rides as well.

I use a mini backpack by Fox Racing.

The dimensions are below:

Fox Racing Girls Conjunction Junction Mini Backpack Features:

All the same zip compartments and functions as the Conjunction backpack only smaller.
13.
5" x 9" x 5.
5" 600 D shell

It's the perfect size to hold all of my stuff! I love it!! I have three different kinds to choose from.

I'll try and post a picture of it.

I hope this works!

I don't know the ages of the traveling party, but I can tell you my experience.

When my kids were younger, I brought a regular school type backpack with us. I would have a change of clothes for them each in a gallon ziploc bag, plus sometimes a clean tee shirt for myself (never know when you're going to spill ice cream or something!). Also, small items for while we may be sitting in a restaurant, my son's medicines, camera, snacks, etc... As the kids got older, they would be responsible for their own small backpacks.

Now I carry a little baggalini backpack - it's cuter than a school type, smaller, but I only need my stuff plus son's meds (he has food allergies). I think I got it from ebags.

I have had no problems on most rides and shows at all! Even on space mountain or something, you can put the bag down by your feet. It's no problem at all. Also, if it was just clothes and stuff (not my wallet or anything valuable) I just would leave the backpack hanging on the back of the stroller when we would go on a ride or to a show. Never have I had a problem with anyone taking it - although once my son left a big lollipop in the stroller basket that he had been licking, and when we came back THAT was gone - eeeew. Some little kid probably took it without the parents knowing (it was down low). Yuck yuck yuck.

Our first year we took a nice leather over the shoulder type bag. It had a magnetized clasp. A not so nice person popped the clasp and took my daughter's autograph book. It was the last day of our vacation and it was filled with her favorite character's signatures. (Sigh.)

The second year my darling husband - manly man that his - carried our daughter's pink Disney princess school backpack the entire vacation. He had no problems on the rides and no one bothered anything in the pack.

This year we are taking the same battered pink backpack for another tour of the Kingdoms.

I usually take a nylon drawstring backpack that you can find at a sporting goods store, and this trip I'll be taking my beltbag, which is sort of a modified fanny pack. It has two front compartments and a hidden back compartment that I'll use to hide cash, etc, especially since it's right against my belly, I'm sure I'll feel safe.

I have a small two pocket backpack that I use. It was on clearance at Meijer for about $4.00 a few years ago and I use it all summer at art fairs, etc. I did buy some Vera Bradley bags and love them, but they just aren't the right size for me to use at the parks. :)
