Did anyone send a load of pictures that your like the style of to your photographer before the wedding day? Did they remember what you wanted?

I'm looking for the not so classic photo style with a fun / different touch. Everyones photo's on this board i like i want.

What do i need to ask for to get these sort of photos? Did you email your requests to your photographer before the wedding day?

Thanks

I have Misty Miotto and she gives us a list of photographs we would like to have such as group shots, with the parents, etc. but also a special section where we can make special requests of pictures we may have seen and like. For example, I am requesting pictures to be taken at the photo booth on the Boardwalk and on the surreys at the boardwalk, etc.

I did not give my photographer any list, photos or instructions. First it is very hard to recreate other photos , it sort of just happens that day.

the most important thing is to pick a photog who's style you love and who you trust. Then if there are certain shots you must have you can give that to him or her. But I wouldn't suggest giving other photogs pics because their style is their style and most likley they will not conform to another style. Anyway if you want certain types of shots (ie with a certain friend, on the beach, by jellyrolls or whatever) then i say write it down and send it to them.

I think that most of us chose a photojournalistic approach. It's helpful to tell them if you know that you are planning something "special" that you want them to capture. Give them a rundown of the day and schedule. That always helps me to make sure I know what is going on next. Come up with a creative idea that you really like. For us, we had the golden ears for everyone in the wedding party with their names embroidered on the back. We took pics walking down the street at the UK pavilion. That is a picture I really like.

I'm with Toni - we booked Misty and she sent us a list of Must-Have shots (like a pic of the dress on a hanger, mom putting on brides necklace, zipping the dress, doing makeup -- she has a whole checklist, I can send it if you want and you can send it to your photog)...

I think if there are any shots you really can't live without, you should definitely see if your photog can make it happen. But, like Pixie said, its definitely difficult to exactly recreate others special shots... but if you give them a general idea of what you'd like, I think they'd make an effort to give it to you. Like "I really love the shots I've seen where the brides are sniffing their bouquets, could we do something like that?" I think you'll find most photographers are willing to work with you about it... although, don't be too demanding, 80% of the art of photography is having an eye for the shots... the whole reason for picking your photog is because you like their style - so give them some creative license... :confused3

alissa that would be great if you could send it to me.

I have Disney for my photography and i'v added the photojournalistic packae so i'm hoping there take some really creative shots.
