Our MAW trip is 10 weeks away. I'm starting the more intensive planning stage. Alize has a trach, a g-tube, a wheelchair and multiple meds. I need to figure out what to bring (we are driving). So far I thought of:
oxygen
spare trachs
spare g-tubes and adapters
feeding syringes
pediasure
car fridge for some of his meds
meds
syringes and needle disposal box
a printed list of all his meds
a list of all his doctors and diagnosis
nebulizer
ordered CPAPand oxygen concentrator for when we arrive
diapers
wipes
suction machine with tubing and catheters
water for suction machine and CPAP.
I'm sure I'm missing things. Help. Karen:confused3  :headache:

Hey Karen.Wow,10 weeks, woohoo!!I'm not too familiar with g-tubes,etc,but do you need alcohol or cleaning solution for the equipment?Maybe some "surgical" gloves if you can't get to wash hands before treatments, keeping risk of infection down.Just tossing out ideas.Like I said not too familiar with this stuff.
Hope you have a great time and please let us know how your trip goes, both here and at BT!

Paula

Most importantly, power cords and chargers for any of your equipment that needs back up power or batteries charged, even if they have long life batteries.
Also, extra trach ties, and depending on the type of g-tube, an extra one. (The Mic Key button balloons always seem to rupture at the worst time possible.)
Have a great time packing and a better time on your trip!
