Got the cutiest see through backpack which should make the security check that much eaier.

Now what to put in it? It will be me, my dh, my 3dd's ages 13, 7, 2 and my ds age 9. I am a girl that likes to be prepared but I dont wanna walk around looking like a pack mule.:eeyore:

Also fyi, I planned on wearing a fannie pack (i know, i know very unattractive save the jokes) to keep our valuables close (wallet, camera, cell phone ect.)

Also would you bring a change of clothes for the 7yr old? She can get messy but maybe not enough to warrent an entirely now outfit.

I would bring in our ponchos (if I didn't take them then it definitely would rain), our fan mister, camera, my & DD's visors, and DD's animal kingdom canteen (to refill). I brought everything in a big bag that could slip over the stroller handlebar.

princess: DD 6

sunscreen, bottle of water, chapstick, sunglasses .. those are the top 4

You can always buy your DD a Disney T if need be! :sunny:

I always take a little deoderant stick with me, it just makes me feel better :thumbsup2

last year I put it in the back pack, and my son ask me "whats that" so I told him,... in a round about way and his dad blurts out "its so your armpits dont stink"
well wouldnt you know about 6hrs later in Haunted Mansion my son says, loudly might I add, "hey mom this guy in front of us need your 'oderant stick cause his pitty's stink" :rolleyes1 Yep wanted to crawl under a rock!

I still take it, but secretly!

Aside from the other suggestions, I like to take in those lemonade water flavorers into the park. I usually buy the walmart brand lemonade and fruit punch. Sometimes the water at Disney doesn't taste too great, and the lemonade/fruit punch really helps the warm water taste good. I also bring in some rice crispy treats, other snacks, sunscreen, a sunglass container, and a hat.

I'd say -

for the 2 yr old:
diapers and wipes (if still needed)
a change of clothes
straw or sippy cup

for the 7r old:
a clean shirt (preferably a long one)

general:
sunscreen (if you don't take an afternoon break - otherwise just reapply during your break)
ponchos
a few snacks
a small battery powered fan?

Everyone is in charge of their own bottled water or beverage of choice.

Don't feel bad, dh and I both wear fanny packs. They're dorky but who feels like carrying a purse? I like to bring some Motrin and Bandaids just in case of boo-boos or blisters. They really take up no space in a bag. Wipies are a must even though none in diapers. If you have access to a freezer, we like to freeze bottled water and use them in place of ice in a collapsible cooler. It keeps box juices and other water bottles cold all day. I stopped packing spare clothes when boys were fully potty trained. Continuous-spray sunblock works great and it's fast. :thumbsup2

I always wet a hotel washcloth and put it in a ziplock bag. I wipe off my kids faces when they look "wiped out" from the heat. It makes them feel much better. I re-wet the washcloth at a water fountain if it gets dried out or hot.

Here's my rather long list with 2 small kiddos.
Diapers and wipes
sunscreen
autograph book & pen
sippy cup
snack
stroller fan
camera
changing pad
M&M's tube with change for presses pennies
ponchos
sunglasses for all
powder & lipstick for a touch up
Advil

I take a backpack to wear, and this is what I carry:

extra ponytail holders and comb (If I don't get the tangles out IMMEDIATELY after a roller coaster, I end up having to rip my hair out by the roots later.)

snacks

hats for me and DH

little handheld fan

flipflops (for water rides)

ponchos

camera and batteries

plastic bag to put wet ponchos or flipflops in

lipbalm

Dramamine, Advil, and Pepto Bismol capsules

money, room key, debit card, photopass card and ID inside a little zipper bag

maps, and something with our ADR's written on it

usually one of our cell phones, just in case.

I am totally down with the ziplock bags, and I might even recommend bringing a storage size for bigger items like shirts, or new souveniers you don't want to get wet, and a sandwich size for things like your wallet, chapstick, etc...
I will probably be keeping everything in plastic
a) because its more organized and easier to get to.
b) because its waterproof
c) becasue its mess-proof, so if something leeks, it doesn't destroy everything else in the bag.
What kind of clothing do you recommend for the parks? I want to be dressed enough to eat TS, but also comfortable in the heat. :bitelip:

The last time we were in WDW, I carried a backpack that had my camera, diapers and wipes (won't be needing those this year!!), sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and snacks. I then packed a bag with extra diapers, a change of clothes for each child and a sweatshirt for the evening, just in case. I put that bag in a locker. That way I didn't have too much to carry. It was good to have the locker because if we bought anything we could bring it to the locker instead of carrying it around and run the risk of losing it!

The 7, 9 and 13 yr olds can carry their own stuff. Get them a fanny pack or small back pack to wear and they have it all. They can loop their poncho over the waist band of the fanny pack. Then you only have to carry stuff for the baby. Hubby can also carry his own stuff.

Make it easy on yourself.

I usually bring bottled water, my CC, my room key, and some cash.
If it is cool in the evenings/mornings, then I bring a sweatshirt or sweater - and maybe a bag to keep it in. Someone in the group brings a camera. That's about it.

What ever you bring, you have to lug around all day - UGH!

Others may feel differently, but I don't wnat to eat crushed, warm cookies that have been in a fanny pack all day.

If you've got very young children, then yeah, the diapers and wipes are needed, and maybe a clean outfit. If you're doing diapers, then a few small platic dirty diaper bags and a tiny bottle of hand sanitzer can be helpful.

I'd only bring ponchos if the weather called for rain, and even then we usually buy them. Often rain in Orlando is sudden, but short lived. Just about the time everyone gets their ponchos, the rain clears. I've seen it numerous times. Now if you have a plastic stroller cover (and your own stroller) then that would be something good to have on a rainy day.

I've seen people put cash and CC's in a clear bag like you describe, and I'd advise against it. I'd keep the valuables hidden.

WHAT?!?!!! Some men actually carry their own stuff?? Guess I'm just the pack mule of the family. :confused3

What to wear. Well, do you wear capris? They seam to be a good match for some of the table service restaurants, something lightweight, yet not shorts. or even a skort. Some of the nicer TS won't allow a true tank top(spaghetti strap).I know what you mean though, I feel a little better if I look a little nicer in certain TS restaurants. If you are taking a lightweight top for later in the day, that would double as a wrap to wear to your meal and could "dress up" your outfit. I usually have one or two generic cotton longsleeve tops/sweaters that will go with about anything (I prefer button up). They could go in that backpack you are putting in the locker, or around your waist.

One thing that I didn't take last year that I will be taking next year is gallon sized ziploc bags. DD has this habit of not eating during meal times but then being hungry 1/2 hour later. I can not tell you how many times we sat her lunch carefully on top of the stroller with whatever kind of covering we could find. Next year, into the ziploc it goes to be dropped into the backpack.

Thanks! I don't mean to be a princess: but I don't want to look too shabby either. Capris sound like a good idea at least one day. Next weekend is Labor Day, so I am looking forward to some WDW shopping. I am thinking about the sweater suggestion, I am just a little worried that I will be hot. I might just go with brining a non-wrinkle top in my bag...not sure yet...
