What to take into park for a child?

I know there has to be post's about this already but the search will not work for me. What should i bring into the park with me? I have a baby that i'm going to need things for. So far I have....

Wipes
Diapers
Change of clothes
2 blankets
Pennie money
pins
Hand wipes
water

Any other suggestions would be great thanks!

What's the "pennie money" mentioned?

More than one change of clothes. Heck, more than 5.

Pins? Hand wipes? Water for itsy baby? I'm so confused.



Sling or other lovely baby-holder so you don't have to carry baby in arms or put baby all the way down at rear-end or knee level of stroller all day.

Hat for baby.


Camera and film or memory cards. And batteries.

How old of a baby are we talking?

If a little older:
snacks, bandaids, toys/little things to do while waiting in lines, juice/water, candy/suckers, snacks, change of clothes if they get wet from themselves or rides, extra socks/shoes, snacks, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses?, and the biggest money saver ever for me - SNACKS (did I mention that?)

For a baby that little, I highly recommend a sling or something similar for while your standing in line.
A couple of large baggies to put soiled clothes into.
Several changes of clothes.
Spare pacifiers if you use them.

That's all I can think of that haven't already been mentioned.

Cheapie ziplocs in the storage bag size have been lifesavers for us on several occasions, not only for soiled clothing, but to seal diapers until you get someplace to dispose/clean them.

Plenty of formula and bottled water to make bottles all day if you bottle feed, a cover up if you breast feed.

A changing pad or blanket only used to change baby on, I don't know about anyone else, but I never lay baby directly on those changing tables in the restrooms.

the pennie money is for me. i collect pressed pennies. and the pins if for my hubby and my son. i bought my dh 100 for christmas as a present from my son so they can trade pins togther (even though he's to small to remember).

the ziplocs for soiled clothes is a great idea!

i'm breastfeeding so this is going to be interesting, i have never done it in public before.

DL has a baby care station at the end of Main Street, with a very nice room to breastfeed in if you are uncomfortable doing so in public.

There are also changing facilities in there and very helpful CMs.

DCA has a similar setup as well.

You may want to "practice" breastfeeding with a coverup or whatever you plan to use, before you go. My DS was a preemie and I pumped for several months before he got the hang of breastfeeding, and by the time he got it, he was old enough to pull off and look around, and pull at my shirt - so I can count on one hand the number of times we actually nursed in public. (Nonetheless, I always found places to feed him, and I nursed him until 22 months, with a few visits to DL in that time!)

I agree with some kind of carrier in addition to your stroller. Nursing at Disney is a piece of cake. There are plenty of places to sit down. Most people are so busy going from place to place that they won't even know what you're doing. The haunted mansion is a great ride for nursing a baby as well. I've nursed 4 different kids at DL and WDW. I honestly don't think I've ever used the baby care place. Practice a bit at the mall or a park and you'll be a pro in no time.

Take an extra shirt for yourself. We always take extra clothes for the baby, the baby always makes mom's shirt a mess so mom needs an extra.

I loved the baby care place! We were there in the summer and I had a newborn. The first time he needed to eat I sat on a bench and it was pretty uncomfortable. The second time, I found the baby care place and it was so wonderful to sit in a comfy rocking chair and nurse in a quiet, cool place. They even brought me a cup of water! That said, I also nursed on POTC and it was great! Good luck!
