DS16 and I will be arriving on a Saturday in March and using ME from MCO to Pop. We will go on to the parks when we arrive so we will not get to get to our luggage. We will have a small backpack. It is not very big at all. I am trying to pull together a list of what to take on the plane in that carry on backpack that I may need in the parks that first day. So far I have:

money
camera
sunglasses
suntan lotion
small container with OTC meds
ID's
deoderant

What else?

Just remember no liquids or gels over 3 oz..

Travel light. We go so often it's embarrassing. My dh and I have a game going, "what's in the backpack." That has to be so uncomfortable to schlep this heavy sack on your back.

We go with whatever we can fit in our pockets and if it doesn't fit, we don't need it. The backpacks are always hitting people in crowds and in my face in lines (yes I'm short). Even small ones get loaded down if you let them. I just don't know why you'd want to put yourself through the discomfort. IMP, but since you asked, keep it in the hotel and you'll have a more carefree distime.

:wave2: I'm certain others will share a very different view, since they appear to be quite popular. ENJOY!!

This what DH,myself and dd (4) took to the parks:

sunglasses
park passes
kleenex (the AC makes my nose run!)
hand gel (a very small bottle)
some pocket change
a small baggie of handi-wipes (for Mickey bars that seem to melt instantly)
camera

DH wore cargo shorts which are great for small items. I had a small tote bag for our camera (digital SLR so it's kind of bulky). Sometimes we threw in a couple bottles of water.

We travel very light to the parks - I can't imagine toting around a ton of stuff. I wouldn't have even taken the tote bag if it weren't for the camera.

Take as little as possible. Your back and shoulders will thank you. I have a passport holder that holds my room key, my AP, my chapstick, and a few bucks. It's light as a feather, and I have nothing to remember to hold on to, since it goes around my neck.

We generally do go very light to the parks but the problem is I won't have access to my luggage before we go to the parks. So everything I could possibly need at the parks that day I will need to take as carryon. I guess I am looking for a combo list of what to take in the parks that I can still take as carry on. I can get small bottles of suntan lotion, meds are pill forms.

in my backpack i take in
Camera
sunglasses ( But i'm ALWAYS wearing those! )
Money
tickets
small thing of suntan lotion.. i burn very easily
Gum
and little things like gronola bars or little candies for those long lines !!
Also a water bottle is a must.. this way you can keep refilling it!!

I'll be there in March too!! When are you going???

I think rain ponchos are a must. You can get very small ones from some of the "Dollar" stores.

Depending on the time of year, I carry a small fleece blanket for my parents. We go often in December and by the time Illuminations starts it is getting chilly.

We normally wear wind breaker type jackets on the plane but again this is dependent on the time of year.

In the parks I carry a Britta filter water bottle. I used to carry it on the plane with me full of water but the last time I flew I had to pack it empty in my checked luggage. I don't know but I suspect you could bring it through security if it was open and empty. By March for you, things in airport security may change again. :confused3

I also carry a sting-kill tube because DD is allergic to bees. I carry a small chap stick along with two small sunscreens, one for the body and another to use on faces (it does not sting when it gets in your eyes).

I also usually throw in a few pieces of hard candy to tide us over before a meal or if the last meal was very garlicy and we need a better after taste in our mouths.

Our camera takes rechargable batteries so I always carry the extra set of them with me.

I take tissues because the sight of the castle always tears me up!

I wear a passport holder around my neck in the parks to hold my tickets and fast passes.

March 10-17. Can't wait to get there. Also, remembered DS's earplanes for the trip down.
