Flowers are boring. I thought of a gift from the popcorn factory, but then realized she probably couldn't eat much of it. She lives about 1400 miles away so I need to order something online, preferably around $30 (not trying to be cheap, but I'm on a budget).

Any ideas??

I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago... How about a voucher for a pedicure or facial? I went and had those both last Saturday, a week after the surgery, and it really made me feel so much better!

Definately don't send food. After my gb surgery, foods I had prior I just couldn't deal with for quite awhile. A gift basket of teas would be nice.

I wish I lived near her because I'd volunteer to do her housework and watch the kids. I like the spa idea, but I don't have any idea of what is good in her area (she's in FL and I'm in Ohio).

Okay, I guess I have a warped sense of humor and I am lucky because my friends do too! :p When my friend has hers out I sent her a white lily with a note extending my deepest sympathies on the loss of her gallbladder.;) Then I sent the chicken soup bouquet from FTD with get well wishes. It made her smile.:)

Something gluton free so she won't have to deal with the raging IBS that comes with gall bladder removal.

a case of extra soft toilet paper............she made need it.

When we have had loved ones have surgery, we have sent Pajagrams and they ahve been very pleased. They are more than $30 but they do have a sale section that you might be able to get a deal.

They come fast and beautifully shipped. I got them once and was impressed.

How about a gift certificate for amazon.com so she can get a good book to read during recovery?

Find out her sizes and buy her some comfy yoga pants and send them priority mail! I had my gall bladder out Dec. 10. All my pants buttoned right over the incision in my navel and really were uncomfortable. At home I was fine in PJ pants, but I wanted to leave the house! Hubby bought me a pair of yoga pants that looked good enough to wear in public, and I lived in them until the incision healed enough to wear pants with a button. Even now, certain pants irritate the healed incision, so I keep my yoga pants and PJ pants handy!

Don't send food. I'm 6 weeks past surgery and am now just feeling brave enough to try some old favorites. :)
