What to request at OKW?

We are getting ready to make our first reservations as DVC members

We are hoping to get a studio at OKW for the week of July 30.

If we are lucky enough to secure all the nights, what should I request?

Our most "important" request would be non smoking - other than that, everything would be a bonus... but I think we would enjoy a water or pool view if possible.

This is a "quiet" trip for us - we will be spending the first 2 days at MGM for ESPN The Weekend, and then just relaxing and maybe hitting a water park for the remainder of the week.

Is it better to be near the main pool or the quiet ones? Do any of the quiet pools have a hot tub? (If yes, which blg #'s is this by?) What are the pros/cons of 1st floor over 2nd or 3rd?

Also, can you take a boat to DTD all day or just in the evenings? What time does the last boat return to OKW?

You are less than 2 months away during a popular time of year. I wish you luck with your reservations. If you get your reservation I would just request a non-smoking-studios at OKW are in the side and front of the buildings, the view with a lot of them is very limited if any at all. You might want to try for location instead of view like close the HH or somewhere.

To help answer a few of your questions I will give you our personal views. We prefer to stay at a quiet pool since we prefer the further away buildings. If you think you will spend a lot of time at HH then you may want a building near there which will also put you close to the main pool. The pontoon boat for DTD begins in the afternoon and runs into the evening. I can not recall the exact times that it begins and quits. If I recall it leaves every 30 minutes.

There are only a couple of buildings that have elevators at OKW. So most likely you will be climbing steps to the second and third floor. Your views are better from the second and third floor obviously, however many people like first floor for the simple reason of elimating the steps. Many times on the first and second floor you may be unlucky enough to get people above you who are noisy. We have never had any disrespectful neighbors during our stays. But if it does it can be very irritating.

Hopefully someone will post the map of OKW for you here and you will be able to see the quiet pools and building numbers.
