Well just recovering from xmas/new year and now the time is near to start thinking about packing. My question is what to pack, shorts, trousers, jumpers, jackets? any ideas would be great. What's the weather like at this time of year?

I haven't been at this time of year before but I'm going to WDW in 11 days

I'm packing a mixture of shorts, tshirts, 3/4 length trousers, full length trousers, jumpers, long sleeved tops.

The weather is averaging 77 degrees at the minute so seems to be quite warm but chillier evenings.

Anyone else think differently??

We are going in 18 days time:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I'm pretty much going to pack a bit of everything and making sure we've got jumpers or fleeces for the evenings, we've got caught before and had to buy jumpers in epcot because we were all freezing come the early evening. And taking our rain poncho's just in case, we have got a 2 year old so it's easier because we can pit it all under the pushchair until we need it.
Are you both very excited?? i can't wait i'm worse than the kids.:yay:

Absolutely cannot wait. It's a major holiday of firsts - my first trip as an adult (last time was in 2000 with my parents), DBF's first trip to America let alone Florida, first onsite visit, amazingly also never eaten at a US Disney restaurant before...

I honestly don't think I could be more excited

Yes very excited we've been planning this trip for almost 2 years. This will be our second trip to Florida but first with family in a villa, we also will be taking our 21 month old son and two nieces with my in laws. Can't wait, just can't beleive it's actually hear. Hope you both have great holidays :cheer2:

Hiya
DH and myself also go in 9 days, how exciting is it having a fab holiday booked when all the excitement of christmas has finished. I am going to be packing three quaters and normal trousers, t shirts and a fleece. I don't do shorts. I think that the weather will be fine, it is currently hitting 80 degrees, so i am hoping for 75 - 80 while we are there, This is our second trip and i am more giddy this time, Hope you all have a great trip.
Ali

Well glad it's not just me, i can't stop planning and sorting things, we have been planning for 18 months aswell, have a great time all of you and let's hope for some warm, dry weather, unlike here!:thumbsup2

We have just got back and it was much warmer than normal (high 70's to low 80's most days) we only wore fleeces once in 18 days. Having said that I'd take protection against rain as we had a few occasions when it was just torrential and we'd have been in serious trouble without our Mickey raincoats (not very stylish but always keep you dry) :)

Quite a few of you going soon then, what every the weather I hope you all have a magical trip so exciting for you all. Yeah :cloud9: :cool1: :cool1:

The weather at this time is quite unpredictable, we went a few years ago in Jan and some days it was warm enough for shorts and others you needed a fleece, one day I even wore my scarf and gloves.
I spoke with a lady in Orlando today and asked her about the weather and she said it was unusually warm for this time of year but they have had some rain.
I'm playing it safe and packing for both.

can't wait to go looks like a few of you will be there at the same time

Agree with Lisash. We have also just got back from warmer than average weather in WDW. We only needed coats a couple of times (oh yes and the ponchos). But would take trousers just in case. If you are in a villa don't overpack as you can wash!!!

Thanks everyone, I'm going to try not to over pack as like you say we can wash although don't plan on over doing it whilst we're there, think I will pack a little of everything. Can't wait to start but don't want to do it too soon, oh well another week and I'll start :cool1:

we are off in 3 weeks and 1 day, looks like there will be lots is DISer's there! we went exactly the smae time last year and i packed lots of shorts, t-shirts etc... :confused3 spent the 2 weeks in three quater lenghts with a t-shirt and then a fleece/hoody top for the mornings and evenings. We only had rain 1 day and the ponchos can be folded up small so we took them with us most days. I have to say they didnt get much use in Florida but we have since used the lots in disneyland paris!!! :rotfl: i have had loads of comments as the paris one are just yellow... everyone loves my Mickey Poncho!!! :lovestruc

We went last February and had shorts and 3/4 trousers and sometimes fleeces - but weather was warm. Have a great time

It can be anything at this time of year! Be prepared to layer so you can add or remove as the temperature changes or the evenings cool down. You may be in shorts or 3/4 or full length. Take sweatshirts and something to keep warm in case - sleeveless body warmers are a good bet, especially for evenings. It's a great time of year to go but there is some rain forecast this year - last year we had no rain till the day we left on 3 Feb!

last year we had no rain till the day we left on 3 Feb!

I shall keep my fingers crossed as we come back on 1 Feb this year, don't mind as long as it's not too wet! then again better to be wet there than here:rolleyes:

I was there for 2 weeks in early December and the temperatures were very similar to those at present, on some days it was warm enough for shorts during the day but not in the evening on others it was cooler and jeans / pants were required. You will also probably need a jumper or sweatshirt in the evening instead of a t-shirt.

It really depends on your plans, if you go back to your room in the afternoon then shorts are probably the way to go. On the other hand if you stay in the parks till they close (like we did) the safer option would be pants and a t-shirt with a jumper for the evening.

Another option to consider is putting a change of clothes in a locker for later in the day.

Standing for an hour waiting for illuminations in shorts and t-shirt isn't recommended.

Hope you have a great time.

Paul

Hi,
Here's a very simple and reliable packing method:

Put all the clothes you intend to take on your bed, at the side put all your spending money. Then half the amount of clothes and double the amount of money and that's what you take...!!

Mick.
