We are going for the first time in may and i dont know what to pack. When we go in sept, its hot and humid, so we mainly pack shorts, but will it be hot enough to wear shorts in may most of the time, or should i pack more jeans?? Will we need raincoats or anything else special when we go??

I've only gone in may once it was around mothers day. We didnt need pants at all not even at night infact it was in the 90's.

May will or should be nice, it won't be that humid yet, so don't worry about that....bring a light jacket depending on how you feel at night, and shorts and tees should do it. If you have PS for nicer restaurants, bring nicer clothes, depending on where you're at....if you wear jeans, then bring them but usually you'll see more shorts then anything else in May. :wizard:

When we went in May we only wore shorts. My DH did pack a pair of jeans but he never wore them. It was very warm and we did not even need a jacket or sweatshirt in the evening. We were there in the middle of May 2003.

We were there last may at there was record heat even over 100 a few days!

We have gone for the last 3 years in May and have never had a problem. We have worn our long pants only on a couple of times. May IMHO is the beat time to go, Nice weather and moderate growds in the first half of the month.

Have a great time,

Always Grumpy

The only time I would wear pants in May would be on the plane. Capris also work great for that. I think you can safely go without long pants for a May trip

In May, you will be able to get away with nothing but shorts. The highs are usually in the high 80's and the lows in the mid 70's.

PS, you might want to consider bringing some shirts and shoes, too! ;)

Visited WDW last week of May 02. First couple of days were hot and humid, after that it was warm but comfortable. Wore shorts and went swimming during the day. Wore shorts or capris at night. A good time to visit because it isn't that crowded except on the weekends. :cool1:

The May we were there was quite warm. The characters kept using our squeeze breeze to cool off. We also had some days of afternoon showers.

I was there during 3rd week of May 2004. It was great weather - even for a cold-blooded person like me. We went with shorts from morning to nights and I only wore my light windbreaker jacket in the evenings a couple of times when it was breezy. My DH never work a jacket the whole time we were there. It was great to be have it warm enough for the EE AM's to wear shorts as I'm usually there in November, which can have chilly AM's. The temps were in low 80's during day and maybe down to 60 at night. Just a tad humid, but it felt good after a long New England winter.

We have been to WDW in May/end of April several times and never needed long pants or a jacket!!!
It's nice and warm!!

Anytime I have gone in May, it has been hot. Highs in the upper 80's. No pants or jackets needed, bring your summer gear! :sunny:

We went the first week of May 2004. I packed everyone a pair of jeans "just in case". The jeans never left the suitcase. I don't think we even needed our jackets, even in the evening.

I think I'll "rough it" and not pack any pants for our trip. I'm pretty tolerant of cold that even if we'd have an abnormally cold spell I'll be okay. Besides, I need that extra space in my suitcase!!

We were at WDW at the end of May '04 and the beginning of Sept. '04. Both temps were very similar - humid and hot. We didn't wear pants for either trips...even at night.

And definitely bring your rain ponchos. We needed ours during both trips.

Okay to answer your question no pants. I am from Florida close to Disney but north of Disney so WDW is hotter than I am. May is hot usually high 80's-90's not as humid as Sept. though so that will help, but people in Florida have already begun swimming and going to the beaches long before May arrives. Okay for example it's still Jan and is about 50 outside. Feb is usually the last of the cold weather.

May through September is HOT, shorts or Capri weather day and night. In April or October you might need a light sweater on an occasional breezy evening.

We were there last May! It was HOT HOT HOT! Shorts, tank tops, bathing suites, sundresses...etc. The only thing I needed was a light sweater in the restaurants because of the air conditioning. It is a great time of year to go. The weather is GREAT & the crowds are much less!

Enjoy! :earsboy: :teeth: ::MickeyMo
