Hello,

I've been lurking since march of this year and FINALLY we are
within two and a half weeks of actually making our first trip to
WDW! Yahoo! :goodvibes :goodvibes :cool1: :cool1: :woohoo:

Okay, here's where I need suggestions: How many outfits for me
and my soon to be five year old daughter? (we will celebrate her
birthday at WDW)

I thought about casual, comfortable clothes for me during the day
at the park, but how casual? Jeans?, capris?, (I don't do shorts).
dresses? How about shoes? I have flat feet and don't do crocs
well.

What about dinner at Jiko, Boma, LeCellier? I'd like to wear a dress,
but is that too much?

As for my daughter, should I bring two outfits per day in anticipation
of her getting dirty/wet?

I plan to let DH fend for himself since he thinks I overpack anyway.
My hope is that I bring the RIGHT clothing for the appropriate number of
days.

We will be staying at the AKL from Oct 13-20th. Any suggestions, hints,
etc., would be greatly appreciated and welcomed. :grouphug:

Well when I usully pack for a 7 day trip I bring between 8 and 10 outfits for myself, and my family does the same.

As far as what clothing to wear you'll be there when it's the perfect climate, not too hot but not too cold yet either. Since you don't do shorts I would suggest capris and jeans with T-shirts or tank tops and a sweater or two just in case it gets cool on a day. The thing you need to know most about Disney is that it is important for you to be comfortable while walking around.

For your daughter I would only bring extra outfits if you know for sue you'll be going on a lot of water rides or going to the water parks. You usually won't get too dirty around Walt Disney World from my experience.

When it comes to shoes the only thing that you'll want to make sure of is that they are comfortable and broken in, when you're at Disney you'll do a lot of walking and I mean a lot of walking (The World Showcase circumference is about 2 miles alone).

Regarding dresses, i you really want to wear one it's always fun to plan a "family formal dinner" in which restaurants such as Victoria and Albert's (Grand Floridian) and the Yachtsman Steakhouse (Yacht and Beach Club) are better suited for formal style dining. Just keep in mind that both of those restaurants are on the steeper side of the pricing scale if that is an issue.

Also just a tip, for your daughter's birthday a character dining experience is unbeatable. The Liberty Tree Tavern (Magic Kingdom) is a great place for a character dinner wheras The Crystal Palace (Magic Kingdom), Chef Mickey's (Contemporary Resort), and Akershus (Norway in Epcot) are great places for Character Breakfasts.

I'm sorry if that was quite long-winded but I tried to get as much advice in as I could. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me. :)

Thank you, Josh! I just left the mall with the suggested items.
Sweaters for me are a must since I'm the one that's always cold.
Furthermore, I've read that the restaurants are kept quite cool.

The only thing I'm really worried about are the shoes. I'm the type
that wears heels most of the time, which won't be practical at WDW.
I've got some well worn in sketchers and my workout shoes that I
know will serve the purpose-I hope.

I have booked a character breakfast and dinner for my daughter.
Crystal palace for breakfast and 1900 for dinner is what I have
planned the day of her birthday with a stop by Bippidy Boppidy
boutique before dinner.

I appreciate all of your suggestions. :goodvibes
