We normally pack a lunch in a cooler and rent a fridge. Last year our fridge was smelly and it stunk up our room. We decided to do Disney Dining this year so we are going to eat breakfast in our room instead. Any good suggestions to pack to bring.

Thanks,

We will be shipping down some dried cereal, cereal bars, bowls, knives, and spoons, bagels, and graham cracker sticks. When get down there I will order from one of the grocery places that delivery; milk, individual OJ, water, cream cheese, grapes and bananas.
We did this in May and it worked out well for us. We would than use the counter service credit for lunch and table service for dinner.
HTH! :)

We drove and we took our toaster oven. We ate bagels and cream cheese, toast, english muffins, juice and coffee(in room coffee maker). Also, yogurt and fruit (available at food court as snacks/counter service).

Good luck

You can make instant oatmeal using hot water from the in-room coffee maker.

Entemann's doughnuts...the kind completely covered in chocolate...
Mmmmmm...doughnuts...

We were there a couple of weeks ago and we took poptarts and cereal bars. We flew and I just packed a small suitcase with all the food and bottles of water. We packed it with our souveniors for the trip back.

We take cereal (buy milk at the resort and keep in room refrigerator) and cereal bars/granola bars, bottled water, bowls, spoons. I never thought of taking a toaster and bagels - great idea....I wonder if I could pack one into my luggage and take on the flight - I am a pretty light packer but DH is not, he requires his own suitcase while I share with DS and the foodstuffs.
A lot of posters talk about making oatmeal with hot water from the room coffee maker, but I cannot stand the smell or taste of coffee so can't even turn it on let alone put water from it into something I am going to eat/drink.

We always bring (each in small supply):

  • Individual single ceral boxes in different flavors to satisfy even the pickiest eater
  • Granola Bars or Cereal Bars
  • A few packages of instant oatmeal
  • Plastic Spoons
  • Pop Tarts
  • Paper or Plastic Bowls
You can get milk with your refillable mug at several of the resorts. We do this at CSR or you can buy milk for cheaper than buying breakfast.

Not for sure if this poster was staying at a Disney resort or not. Just thought I would let you all know that oaster ovens and toasters are not allowed in the resort rooms. Better to take your bagel, toast, etc. to the main food court and toast it there.

Thanks for that info - would hate to have contraband in my room that took so much effort to pack into luggage for a flight!!!

I always pack two boxes of poptarts, great for breakfast and 2am snacks.

If you are doing Disney Dining, you probably will have some snack credits that you can use for breakfast items in your resort store or bakery. We had so many snack credits left over----with Disney dining you will need very little extra food.

I agree with Doodlebugs. We do that and then also have poptarts with milk for whoever is a crankypants that day and won't eat.

We do cereal (buy milk at the resort), poptarts, granola bars and fruit (food store stop from our towncar ride from the airport). We bring bowls from our local dollar store (throw away when we leave) and plastic utensils.

If only staying 1 week, a foam cooler from the food store (about $3) and ice from the resort machine works well to keep milk cold over night. We dump the ice in the tub in the AM and refill again at night. It also keep water bottles cold for the next day's use ;)

with the dining plan, I wouldn't bring much. We are big eaters and we still never really wanted much breakfast. We got a couple of boxes of donuts with our snack credits and a couple of morning DD and I wanted toast and we were able to buy 2 slices of bread for about .69 in the food court and add our toppings like peanut butter and jelly.

I keep it simple and just do cereal and milk in the mornings. Not a big breakfast eater.

We also use the fridge for pop, water, cheese, salsa, and wine.

I would throw some cheese sticks or PB in with all those carbs to keep your energy level steady. Also a few apples and bananas because they will last and you don't kave to refrigerate them. I wonder if lunchables would make a good in room breakfast?

Toaster ovens or any cooking appliances are not allowed in rooms at Disney resorts (usually any resorts anywhere for that matter) that do not have a kitchen in them because the electric outlets are not rated for them, and the safety measures (such as fire extinguishers) are not in place in the room, so they are a fire hazard. Also, if you are caught with them you will be told to leave the resort. All of this info is also on Mousesavers.

Just so everyone knows. I wouldn't want anyone to get kicked out of their Disney resort because they were trying to have breakfast. I also would not want a fire at a Disney Resort.
