I am VERY excited....we were able to squeeze in the tea at GF!!!

Now, what should I order!!! I want a true tea experience and I will pretty much eat anything!!!

Can DH and I order different things and share or is there not really enough to do that???

Any and all opinions appreciated!!

DH and I did the tea in April and we loved it, full review and a ton of pics are in my signature.

Depends what each of you like. Sharing is a little tough with the portion sizes. My recommendation is the Grand Tea or the Buckingham Palace. Both have the sandwiches and scones, with tea. The Grand Tea comes with sparkling wine and a choice of desserts, while the Buckingham Palace comes with strawberries and cream or pastry. There's also a tea with cheeses and pates, which I know would appeal to my DH if I could ever drag him here.

Have a great time this is such a fun experience.

We just went to tea on June 16. I ordered the Prince Edwards Tea and friends ordered the Buckingham Palace. It was nice but if I ever go again I will order a la carte.... pot of tea, scones, and strawberries and cream. That is the best of the best::yes::

Grand tea all the way ... $25 for a plate of sandwiches, scones, fruit tart, dessert, sparkling wine, and a pot of tea!

We always order it. :thumbsup2

I ordered the Grand Tea and loved it. I'm ordering it again when I go back.

Can children attend the tea?

Is this different than the Wonderland Tea Party that I read about in the UOG?

Children can certainly attend. I took my daughter in January who was almost four, and she did great. They have a Mrs. Pott's tea, that has hot cocoa, and little sandwiches. She thought it was so fun to go to a "girl's place". I also have 2 sons, who were almost 9 and 5 1/2 at the time, and they went to Gasparilla's arcade with Dad while we were at Tea, and liked that much better than they would have tea.

Is it necessary to book ahead?

Yes - they have limited availability for this and it's only offered from 2PM-5PM (or maybe 4PM ... they keep changing it around on me).

If you want to have afternoon tea, make an ADR. I've seen plenty of people turned away at the podium because there wasn't any availability for the afternoon.

We did this just a few weeks ago.

The Buckingham Palace Tea is essentially the Grand Tea without the wine, and since we don't drink, we got that.

The Prince Edward Tea has more pates and meats.

And the Mrs. Potts Tea is for kids, and has hot chocolate and PB & J.

And yes, you do need reservations, because the Garden Tea Room is pretty small - only about 20 tables.

We loved it! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the reply. I have a two year old son who would probably like the arcade better than then tea. No daughters :( He's too squirmy to sit still long enough for a relaxing tea.

Would I look like a weirdo if I went by myself? :rotfl2: And would I be charged some sort of single supplement? This sounds like something I would like to do.

We just came back and my 8 and 9 year old granddaughters loved tea at the GF. They gave them different sandwiches with their tea otherwise everything else was the same -- same pastries and they drank tea.

We loved the tea! My mom, sister and I took my daughter (6) and niece (5) for an all girls afternoon after the BBB. The adults had The Grand Tea with the Garden View Blend tea and we loved every bite. The girls had Mrs. Potts Tea with the Princess Breakfast Tea (sweet and fruity) instead of the cocoa.

You should absolutely go! You would love it. I have been a lot over the years and it is wonderful. I have gone with my daughter many times and also with girlfriends when traveling without children, but I would go alone. I have definitely seem parties of one at the Garden View Lounge :thumbsup2 Make your reservation for 1 and go for it! It would be an awesome break for a mother of a 2-year-old :cloud9: Peruse the menu, order and enjoy :)
