What to expect by summer 2017?

Well, DH has finally agreed to a certain return trip to Disney, but not next summer. So we'll be returning June 2017... *sigh* so faraway :(

I'm curious however, with all the construction going on at AK, MK, HS, EP... what changes can we expect by June 2017, compared to what it was like this summer? What will (tentatively/assumedly) be open and what closed?

No real way to know. It's hard to know what will be open/closed a month from now so it's virtually impossible to know this far away what will happen a year-and-a-half from now.

I did hear that Disney recently filed permits for infrastructure changes to Disney's Hollywood Studios (ie. parking, water, etc.) and those permits go until 2018. I'm not anticipating many of the big changes to DHS until later than that. Possibly in time for WDW 50th Year in 2021? Purely speculation on my part though!

Most of the expert crystal ball gazing goes on on the Rumors and News forum. Disney never gives firm opening dates very far in advance. There's no way of knowing what will be open 18 months from now.

We do know that the new Soarin movie and the Frozen ride, along with the new A&E M&G hall will open in Epcot sometime next year. The hub and castle forecourt should be completed in the next few weeks. That's about it for those 2 parks. I'm not aware of any other announced projects for them.

Star Wars Weekends have gone on extended hiatus ( RIP). They're gearing up for the Star Wars Launch Bay, a reworked JTA, and a couple of other minor Star Wars attractions ( not rides) that will begin soon. But the major Star Wars Land at DHS ( or whatever they decide to call it next) won't be open for a looooooong time. Certainly not by 2017. Toy Story land is supposed to open before that, and some optimists have speculated as early as 2017, but I wouldn't bet on it.

At AK, the Rivers of Light and possibly the night safari are supposedly opening next year, with Pandora in 2017. But just when in 2017? No one knows yet. And probably won't for another year.

On, yeah. Disney Springs is supposed to be finished next year. But I must emphasize that everything is still speculation and rumor. Disney remains tight lipped.

Interesting, thanks. Yes, I've seen some that say it will be 2020 or 2021 for SWL. I have no interest in waiting that long to go back. It'd be cool if TSL was open by 2017, but I guess we'll see. Avatarland, meh, I'm not excited about, so whatever, but the Rivers of Light and Night Safari would be cool.In fact, given our son's insane love of animals, I could see us waiting until those were open.

But it sounds as though, most of the construction will be done at EP, MK and likely AK, and HS will be under heavy construction.
