What to eat at RainForest Cafe in DTD?

I love the China Island Chicken Salad. Not only can your kids share a kids meal but two adults can share that salad. Its huge. That leaves room for dessert either there or a Mickey Bar in the park. By the way, guess we are in the minority but we LOVE the Rainforest Cafe and even joined the Safari Club. Also if you like fun, grown up drinks, try the Tropical Toucan!

Another vote for their China Island Chicken Salad. I also like their Cobb Salad. There was another salad that they used to do that was really good too -- it had fried chicken on top of it -- don't remember what it was called but they don't serve it anymore. Whenever we go there, I always order one of those big salads and my DH goes for a pizza, which he says is OK (not great, but passable OK).

There's a buffalo fried chicken salad, if that's what you mean. I've gotten it before and it was pretty good, and it was on the menu tonight (at the VA location). Like I said before, we're not huge fans of the food, but since we had my daughter's birthday party there (as you might be able to tell from the plate in the sig photo) we joined the safari club to get 10% off merchandise (bought the favors from the gift shop-much cheaper than buying their goodie bags) and 10% off the adult meals at her party. Well with the safari club you get a $10 giftcard, which arrive this week and has to be used by May so off we went tonight. We got the appetizer adventure and rainforest burgers. I took half of my burger home as the appetizer filled me. Oh, and I think that appetizer is a great value-it was $13.99 and you get a ton of food, and each individual appetizer is about $8.

I like the Planet Earth Pasta and the rainforest turkey wrap.

On a side note-while the food is good, the service at the rainforest in AK is really, really slooowwww. Took 2 hours for lunch, in Jan, with the restaurant 1/2 fill. This has happened to us 3x in a row and I've heard others' mention it so I know I'm not the only one. But as it's the only sit down in AK, there's not any other choice.

Slightly off topic. If you see a guy with gray hair out showing the birds at either location, be sure and stop and say hello. He is a great guy and VERY knowledgable about the birds and fish there. He is the curator of animals. Make sure your kids brush up on their baby animal names. :)

The service is slow. Its funny because at the one in DTD in DisneyLAND, the service is always incredibly fast. We have learned now at AK, order quickly and when they bring the food ask for the check. That cuts down on the time.

You can call the DTD location and make ressies before you arrive at
407-939-2648. I've already made ours for May 10th !! :cool1:
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I think we will definately try that
appetizer, and split a meal for DH and I !!!

WE always get the Appetizer sampler....andi f we get a good server, we sub cheese sticks for the calamai. It's HUGE! DH and I split it. DS16 likes the Mojo bones and DS5 get chicken strips..... he's going to turn into one soon. I don't know what DD19 has gotten. Not sure she's been with us there.
