Despite all the negative reviews this place has been getting in the past few months, we'll be giving it a try. If you've been there recently and LIKED IT, what did you order? We're on the DP so we need ideas for some good appetizers, entrees and desserts. None of us care for meat on bones (just a personal preference) but other than that we're not picky.

I am interested in this too. We are having dinner here in a few weeks.

We visited Le Chefs de France in December/January for XMas and NYE week. It was absolutely FABULOUS! Both the service *AND* food were impeccable!

I had the french onion soup (amazing!) and Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with a black pepper sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans. It was outstanding!

DON'T get the chicken...soooooo dry.

DO get the Onion Soup, the creme brulee and the escargot...I had never had it before and I tried it and LOVED it. Very garlicky.

I kinda laugh when people dislike Chefs, if you are not into French cuisine do not eat here. Being a classically trained chef, this is a must see restaurant for us. We have visited every for the past ten years and only had bad service once because our waiter, Lido, had too many tables. This past time I had the duck breast l'orange with leg confit-divine. My dad had the short ribs, which are typically very fatty and I would pass on. The beef tenderloin, which was not available, made it hard for my mom to find something to eat-she is picky. I ended up getting her the Alsacian flatbread with creme fraiche, bacon and onions and the goat cheese salad-she loved it and could not get enough. The beef tenderloin they usually serve is served with potato gratin and hericot verts (green beans), is awesome. My duck was served with a sweet potato soufle and it was delcious. The desserts here are some of the best-I love the profriteroles-cream puffs stuffed with vanilla ice cream and covered with hot chocolate ganache-dynomite! :)

Well, I wasn't crazy about the Filet de Boeuf Grille, but I absolutely adored the flatbread with mushrooms and cheese. And the dessert--I think I had Profiterolles au chocolat--was wonderful as well. Hope this helps.

French onion soup and gratin de macaroni. We usually skip dessert and order from boulangerie patisserie.

We had a fantastic late lunch there in August. I drug my mom kickin and screamin and she even admitted it was great.

The onion soup is really really really good. REALLY good. I don't "do" onions and I scarfed it down. The cheese plate is very very good as well, though some of the cheeses were a bit strong for my two dining companions.

I had the toasted ham and cheese from the french menu and it was great, but I don't think they have it at dinner. The salmon was very good.

On a previous trip I had the seared rare tuna and it was yummy. DH had the vegetarian lasagna but did not care for it much.

I loved the creme brulee, but I'm a creme brulee fan anyways =)

We ate there little over a month ago. As NikkiBell said it was absolutely FABULOUS! I had the French imported cheese plate. I love cheese and always like to try new things and it was very good. After that I had the Cote de Porc Fermiere (Pork Chop). It was awesome. Dessert was Crème Burlee and I was to die for.

Loved it!!!

It was the one "adult" meal that I did during my solo trip with DD4. All other meals had some form of Princess or Character - LOL!

While my salmon was good, I don't think I would get it again. I scanned a few plates on neighbouring tables and was kicking myself as everything else looked so good.

I did have the escargot which was great, and creme brulee which was awesome. Overall great meal! I would love to come back with DH and no kids!

By the way, a funny aside. My daughter is 4, and in fairness to her she was excellent during this meal in particular. However, the meal started off rather shaky. First off, despite the fact that both DD4 and I were some of the best dressed patrons in the restaurant, I found the hostess had a somewhat snotty demeanour to us. Didn't bother me any, as it seems that any French restaurant worth its salt does - LOL! My impression was that they did not look fondly at toddlers in this particular restaurant. There were maybe 2-3 others in the place, but definitely caters to adults.

Oh well, what the hostess didn't know was that my DD was one of the well-behaved toddlers going! LOL Well, imagine my surprise as we were passing a vacant table with a near-untouched HUGE dessert with whipped cream and berries on top when I see DD walking by grab some of the cream and berries and stick it in her mouth. My jaw literally dropped open in shock, horror, surprise, disguist, disbelief - you name it!!! When we finally got to our table the hostess said in completely undisguised scorn/sarcasm "Have a good meal".

When we went in September, there was no beef on the menu. Major bummer for us. But the onion Soup is still fabulous and the flatbread with creme, bacon, and onion melted in my mouth.

LOVED Chefs...definitely get the french onion soup, and I also had the shrimp/scallops...yummy! Dh had Ahi and loved it too!!

We love Chefs. We were there at the end of August and I had the pork chop, which was delicious. We've also enjoyed french onion soup, lobster bisque, profiteroles, creme brulee, braised short ribs - all delicious!!

We've eaten at Chefs three times this year. The only complaint we had was my DH thought the polenta served with the short ribs was bland. Next time, he will ask to substitute the gratin macaronis.

THE best thing at Chefs de France for a picky eater is the ham and cheese sandwich with greens on the side (not a salad but leafs of stuff). That was the only thing on the menu I would even consider and it was so good, that I would never hesitate to go back there again. It's on the lunch and dinner menus. We haven't tried the French onion soup yet because my husband won't taste any onion soup other than TGI Friday's (seriously). On the other hand, he doesn't ever eat fish and chips unless it's at the Rose and Crown.

DH and I have either lunch or dinner at Chefs on almost every trip. We always order the same thing, the vegetable lasagna which is listed in the menu as: "Lasagnes de legumes du soleil a l'huile d'olive au thym - zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, onions and bell peppers baked into thin layers of pasta".

It's unlike any other lasagna I've ever had and is very tasty. It's one of DH's favorite meals at WDW.

We ate there just a couple of weeks ago and it was WONDERFUL....one of our best meals there as far as food and service. We were also on DDP. We got the cheese plate and the bacon/cheese/onion flatbread (pizza) and both were fabulous. My mom got the mushroom flatbread, and I liked ours better. The bread they bring out was warm and heavenly and I probably could've just eaten that! I got the chicken which I enjoyed (but not the best chicken I've ever had, and my husband got the salmom which was very good as well. My sister got the vegetable lasagna (which I tasted)...it was really, really good. For dessert, we had the chocolate tart and the profiteroles. I thought the profiteroles were to die for and much preferred it to the tart (and I'm a chocoholic), although the tart was very good. A GREAT meal! One word though for DDPers--we got charged $9 for our drinks b/c we didn't realize they weren't on the DDP. My husband got a pink lemondade, which we thought would just be a fountain drink, but it was a bottled, imported, sparkling one that cost $5! And I ordered chocolate milk for my 3 yo which we were charged for. At Chefs, just soft drinks are included on DDP....fyi. NO big deal and still a great meal we can't wait to reprise!!!!

On the lunch menu I love the quiche Lorraine - one of their best dishes!

For dinner, if you can't get the beef tenderloin, do try the shrimp/scallops.

I also love the macaroni gratin - my girls refuse to eat from the kids menu and split an order of this.

And, of course, the onion soup is to die for, as is the creme brulee!

I'm glad to hear more positive reviews. We're eating there for the first time on our upcoming trip and it's the one place I'm REALLY excited for. Esp since DH and I are both veggies and it looks like they have plenty of things for us to try.

I had the Chefs Menu over a month ago and it was very good. The food is not overly spicy but still very good and large portions! The Chefs menu was roasted chicken, potatoes, vegg, french onion soup and creme brulee.

Ask your server for suggestions; it's usually the best plan. They know what all the dishes are like and what's popular. :thumbsup2
