Should I book now or wait til later?

  • Book Now, while Song's prices are still low

  • Wait later, Independence will have a sale

Ok here's my dilemma. Right now song's fair to MCO from LGA or JFK is $79 one way. It would be more convenient for me to leave from Newark (EWR) which is $134 one way. In the meantime I've been trying to wait for independence air's flights to come out for september but it looks like I've got another month before I can get a quote as they only publish their fares 5 months in advance. So my question is, should I go ahead and book with song from LGA or JFK or should I hold out and wait to see what independence is gonna have to offer from EWR.

My only concern is that while I'm waiting for independence, song's price is gonna increase. :confused3

Advice, please.

How many people? For more than two people, I'd probably book now. Two or just you, I might be willing to hold out.

I would book right away. The cost of jet fuel is rising just like our gasoline prices, and this will prohibit any lowering of prices for flights in the near future.

I booked our flights for end of November yesterday because I didn't want to chance the wait for SWA flights.

can I book a flight for my trip even though it is not until December with a return flight in January????? so....if I do, they couldn't increase the price on me right???

TIA

we are taking jet blue out of jfk.. when i first looked a few weeks ago it was $59 each way this past sunday it was up to $89 so i booked.. i wouldnt take the chance of passing up such a good fare.. we are going in oct i thought about waiting too but with the gas prices so crazy i cant see it going down again

For JFK to MCO, flying the Fri of Columbus Day weekend, we paid 135.40 round trip/ticket. I have never paid that low of a fare. I booked a few months ago, because I knew that I normally get a fare of 175-200/ticket, and I knew our dates. I also reserved my rental car back then, which was a good move, since my rate for 11 days is 195. for a full size, and it is now up to 335. for the same. Prices may go down, but I was not willing to bank on that possibility. The last time I waited it out, I paid 400/ticket to go during President's week in Feb!

Thx for everyone's responses.. I went ahead and booked the flight outta LGA :cool1:

Now instead of getting relatives to take us to the airport dh wants to get a limo :goodvibes

so much for saving money :rotfl:
