Anyone have any ideas as to what to do at MCO? I booked a late flight because it was a huge price difference & I think that airport is so pretty(I'm from NY & the airports here are TERRIBLE-- except for the Jet Blue terminal :) )& we are always staying in WDW till the last possible minute & the only part of the airport we have seen is the check in & the Mcdonalds by the gates! I don't want to spend the $$ for the day rate at the Hyatt, it seems silly, & my bf isn't buying- then whats the point in saving the $ on the flight he'll say. So, aside from that is there anything else that we can do there, shops, restaurants etc. I figure we won't rush off the ship or anything but even then we'll be off by the latest 10:00am right? That still leaves us witha awhole lot of time at the airport!!Thanks for any input!:D

The things I remember are, a Disney Store, a Chilis ummmm, I guess thats all I remember. Maybe because thats all we did, sorry. Someone posted a website for MCO before the had all the different restaurant and shops on it, maybe they'll see this and post it again. Or you could just look up MCO on the internet. Good luck, I'm sure someone else will help you out soon. :sunny:

Rent a car coming back from the cruise from Avis or Budget- you can get them pretty inexpensive with discount codes- see mousesavers.com. These car agencies have free shuttles at the Port. Go to Downtown Disney for the day, or explore Kennedy Space Center, or Cocoa Beach.

There are shops at MCO, but not that many...

We ate at Chili's and there is also a video arcade there and also some other shops (but not many). Beware - last time we had a late flight and did not know about the Hyatt day rooms. I'm sure I spent at least 50 at the video arcade for DS5 at the time. Hindsight tells me the day room would have been better in our case. I certainly booked an earlier flight this time so no need to worry about it. - Mike

lots of hotels offer day rates. Plus they have free shuttles. I took a late flight and stayed at the holdiay inn. It was perfect.

The whole middle of MCO, is like a great little mall, with plenty of restaurants, a micro brew pub with some pretty good beers.

Just kick back and relax.

I was considering maybe going to sea world or something but we have disney transfers so we already paid for our ride back, plus we'll have luggage. Even if we got a car we would have wasted the $$ for the transfers. If we get off the ship at decent time would we have enough time to go somewhere? What is there to do if you Do do the day rate at the Hyatt?? Anyone know how much it is?
& Dianthus, I love your ideas about the space center etc... but I just couldn't go to downtown disney & not be staying there!! I think I'd expire on the spot!!!:teeth:

Thanks for the info!!:D
