I am going to WDW next month and staying at the WL for 8 days. We are driving and getting into town around 4-5pm. At first I thought I was arriving much later so I was going to book a DD hotel for that one night and then check in early the next day at the WL. Now that I am getting there sooner I thought I would just add a day to WL. Wrong! There are no rooms to be had there. I call every day to see if there are any cancellations. I am going to need a room for April 29. That isn't too far away. Should I continue to call WL and see if a room opens up? I'm afraid that the DD hotels will all be booked if I wait too long. How much longer would you hold out on getting a WL room before giving in and getting a DD hotel? Also what DD hotel would you recommend for that one night? Thanks!

hi: i've never stayed at any of the dd hotels, but you may want to make a ressie just so you have a place to stay. continue to check availability with the wl. if you will only be using the hotel for sleeping on the first night, then get a relatively inexpensive one.

Why not try one of the moderates or values for one night. Make a ressie at one of those, then continue to try for the WL. This way you are still in the Disney magic and can check out another resort.

Call CRO and see if the room is open for more then one night stay (some resorts have a minimum night stay. If so, ask agent if you can modify existing reservation to include extra night, since you already have an exisiting reservation.
