We're not going to do an excusion on St. Maarten so we can save our pennies for the expensive Champagne Catamaran on St. Thomas to St. Johns.

Two adults. DH has low tolerance for long-term shopping adventures. What can we do on St. Maarten?

Dodie--

We found many taxis available. You could take a taxi for an island tour or just a ride to one of the beautiful beaches. Not too expensive.

There really isn't anything within walking distance of the ship. But you can take the water taxi over to the island ($5 per person for the entire day) and Great Bay Beach is right there. You can relax on the beach and gaze across the water at the Disney Ship! We enjoyed just strolling thru the town - it was a nice walk. They do have chair and umbrella rentals on the beach. They also have rentlals for jet ski's. But, the actual beach is FREE.
:)

Dodie - We did just what you are planning. The Champagne Catamaran was GREAT! In St. Maarten, we took the water taxi over to the beach area mentioned above. Although we didn't hang on the beach, we wandered through the shopping area (briefly) and then went back to the ship to enjoy it with low crowds. We did walk through the beach on the way out and it was nice with very little crowd. Have fun!
