So we are going on a trip with other family members. We traveled with them before and my mother had to leave early on that trip and has 2 days left on her ticket that she didn't use. We are planning on going back next spring and she (everyone) will need 5 day tickets. The question is, what should we do about her already having a ticket linked to her with 2 days? Does she buy a whole other 5 day ticket or a 3 day to use after the 2 remaining days? Can you have 2 separate tickets linked to the same person? Will fastpasses get screwed up at the 60 day mark? Sorry if its confusing!

Did she pay for the non-expiring option on that ticket?

If she bought the Non-Expiration option the 2 day ticket will still be good. I'd just buy another 3 day ticket to save a little cash - you can have more than 1 ticket per person. If she didn't buy the Non-Expiring option, then the 2 days will be expired and she can't use them.

Even with the no expiration option, it's questionable whether it's better to do 2+3 or just buy a new 5 day ticket. Price breaks are offered on the later dates, making the existing ticket worth less. It's best used on a 2 day visit to maximize value.

If she didn't buy the no expiration option and was purchased after the change to MYW pricing (2004/2005???) then it has no value.

Thank you! It was actually a complimentary ticket given to just her for a big problem she had. This was back in 2015 I believe. Is there any way to tell if its expired? I am an AP and I see the date when mine expires but it doesn't say for hers.

Is the ticket linked in MDE? If so, go in and see if you can make FP+ on that ticket (simply pick any day within the next 30 and see if you can make FP+). If you can make 2 days of FP+, the ticket is still valid. If you can't make FP+, it's expired. If you are able to make the test FP+, make sure to cancel them out after the test.

The only other thing you can do prior to arrival is to e-mail WDW with the ticket info and ask them to check for you: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/tickets/uses-remaining/

YES!! I was able to make 2 days!! that was smart, thank you! I just want to be sure that it is still "good" for 2018 when the trip is planned....

So price out a 3 day ticket. And price out a 5 day ticket. Then decide if it's worth using it for that value of the difference between the 2.
