What to do with the backpack?

This is the first time DS5 will go on most of the rides so all 4 of us will go on the rides together. We aren't going with the in-laws this time (YEAH!!!), so I have no one to hold my stuff. What do I do with my backpack? I don't want to leave it in the stroller. I thought about downsizing to fanny packs, but I just don't think we'd have enough room.

Help, please!

Can you downsize your backpack?? I still use a stroller at the parks for my 5 yr old dd so when we're walking around the backpack stays there.

But, when we go into rides or attraction I carry it on my back. It holds some snacks, a change of clothes for dd, our camcorder and some other odds and ends. So, if you can get away with a smaller backpack you should be fine.

Most rides our backpack wasn't even a worry.

On the few, like SM, RnR and BTR we just put on floor of car, putting our leg through the straps. It never moved, and no one said anything to us about not bringing it.

Fanny packs work very well too. Keep your valuables in something as small as possible.......and the rest in a backpack on stroller. We never had a problem with leaving the basic items in our stroller.

We've also carried a backpack our last couple of trips. It wasn't really stuffed, maybe 1/2 full at most. It wasn't a problem for us on rides either. BF would just do what HopperFan does. RnRC is the only ride that goes upside-down, but even that should be okay with legs through the straps.

We bring backpacks on all the rides and most you can just put it by your fit.

Some rides have compartments to store them in, like Dinosaur at AK has a net pouch. Kali River Rapids has a center thing that gets covered by a platic thing but it gets filled up fast so sometimes we put our bag in a garbage bag and hold it so it won't get wet and we don't have to worry about finding room in the center pouch.

Mission Space has a compartment that closes that your bag has to go in and it can be a tight fit if you have an overly stuffed bag that can't squish down.

Personally I just leave mine on the stroller....then I don't have to worry about weather it fits or not...

I've always carried backs on the rides-- either wearing it on back or putting it on floor with leg through strap.

Thanks for all of the help. I guess that's one less thing to worry about.

next time i go, not sure when that might be, rather than carrying a backpack or fannypack this is the plan. get one of those mesh hunting/fishing vests (mesh is cooler for summer). they have plenty of pockets and do not bind, rub, etc. the weight is distributed more evenly than in a pack because they have many pockets. you do not have to take it off to ride like you do a pack. i am anxious to try it.

My husband and I usually take turns carrying ours, we used a backpack instead of a diaper bag last trip. We were traveling with our two year old daughter. It worked really well, holding the cameras, change of clothes and other stuff.

We usually don't have any problems carrying ours either. We have one of those backpacks that has one strap that crosses over the chest diagonally. It also has the velcro strap in front, so it's really easy to get on and off. It has snacks and diapers and such. It's not big so we just keep it on when we rode or put it in the compartment.

We leave ours on the stoller. I dont leave anything valuable in it. It's just diapers, wipes and a few snacks.
