What to do with Reservation Points?

I have 224 points as "reservation points" because I had to cancel the cruise that would have been for my DCL wedding. The governor of California decided to give state workers those pesky furloughs. Anyways, I am not sure what to do with them. Can you rent reservation points? I don't think it makes much sense but I know I can't use them any time soon. Any suggestions?:confused3

Sure, you can rent "Reservation Points". Just be sure to make that status very clear, otherwise you will get a ton of requests from posters wanting reservations at DVC resorts (and you may still get those requests even if it is made very clear).

"Reservation Points" can only be used for reservations at the non-DVC options, like the Disney Collection (including the cruise), Adventurer Collection and Concierge Collection. They cannot be used for DVC resort reservations or the World Passport Program.

They will also expire at the end of your current Use Year since they cannot be banked.

Be sure to use the title "Points for Rent" and then identify them as "Reservation Points".

Good luck! :)

Thank you so much for the response! I will give renting the points a shot. I tried doing a search for what reservation points would rent for but I did not find anything. Any idea? Is $5 bucks too low? I want to be respectful to other DVC owners.

Some of the pricing will depend on when the points expire, but in general, the point costs are higher for the non-DVC resort options than a DVC villa, so you may find the need to be competitive in order to find a renter.

Good luck!

They can be used at DLH or PP at Disneyland and there isn't a $95 exchange fee. Perhaps someone you know would like to rent them or you might make a trip there?
