I have 2 rooms booked through priceline for a one night stay on Saturday September 8 at the Radisson Worldgate. My mother in law just told us tonight that she wont be able to go on the trip with us. That leaves one of the rooms open and we are definately not going to use it. Is it possible to let someone else stay there by just giving them the confirmation # for the room, even if it is reserved under my name?

I believe that you hvae to actually do the check in yourself since it's in your name. Most hotels will ask for the credit card that was used to reserve it.

But I guess you could do the check in and then just let someone else stay in the room for the night.

To give away a priceline room that you don't want to go to waste
1. Find someone on the boards who can use it
2. Have them PM you their name
3. Call the hotel and have their name added to the reservation, then they can check in without you
This has worked every time for me

I wish I knew this a few weeks ago. I could have given someone my night at Hershey for the 4th. We have been remodeling and that needed full attention. I will remember this for future use!

This works if you are being generous and are giving away the rooms, because we all know that For Sale posts are not permitted on the DIS. :)

Thanks, yes, I was looking to possibly offer the room to someone for free. We may just get rid of both rooms and forego the extra night since she wont be coming. This was her first time in Disney so we were trying to give her as many full days as possible.

I've done this a couple of times. It is a nice way to "pay it forward." Hope it works out! Hate to see a good room go to waste!

if you still want to go to the hotel, then call up the front desk and ask them how full they are for that night. if they are booked solid ask if they would be willing to upgrade you to a suite (which are ususlly not sold out) in return for the use of 2 easily rentable rooms.

i did this over new years eve a few years agowhen i won 3 rooms for the night in a radio promotion. i would have gladly given the rooms to someone i knew, but i'd be scared to give it to a stranger. if they damage anything it would be your responsibility.

Thats true....I didnt even think about that.

I've always had to give a credit card at check in. So I would hope if you did let a "stranger" have the room, they'd scan their cc and you'd be safe.
