Hello all, I have a question I hope you may help me with. I bought my son a sweatshirt from the disney store about 2 years ago that was personalized with his name (Dylan) in it. The shirt has mickey on it and says "Dylan is a friend to the end". Well, the shirt is now too small and I don't know what to do with it. It looks brand new and I don't want to throw it away- I don't know if it would be worth giving it to Goodwill because it has someone's name already on it and I don't think that I could sell it on ebay. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I bought DS the Buzz sweatshirt & DD the Princess sweatshirt with their names on them. I plan to turn them into pillows for their room when they outgrow them. Of course, they aren't even getting them until our cruise in December. LOL!

Is there any way (and any one) to cut out the Mickey and the personalized area as Mickey's silhouette and applique it onto a larger sweatshirt?

How about, does Dylan have a few sweatshirts you'd like to keep but that he's outgrown? Cut out the front in squares and turn them into a quilt. Or sew up the bottom of this one, tack the sleeves around back, stuff the shirt with batting, stitch up the neck and voila! A pillow!

I listed my daughters personalized sweatshirt and coat (Allison) on ebay and sold it with no problem at a good price, so I would recommend ebay if you don't want to keep it. :earsboy:

I have been saving my dd & ds's special clothing for a while now-I plan to make a quilt to send them off to college with. I saved their sports jerseys, school shirts, special disney shirts from their first trip, and anything that would make them remember their childhood and feel more comfortable when they are away from home. Kind of sappy but I think they will enjoy it. I keep them all together in a bin in the attic.

thats my sons name "DYLAN".
you could make a pillow out of a couple I have seen people do this our you could put it on ebay cause Dylan seems to be a popular name

Those are all GREAT ideas! I reallly love the quilt idea! I knew I could count on my dis board friends to come up with something creative! Thanks!!! :sunny:

You could try a yard sale if you ever have those.
My daughter's name is Samantha & at our last yard sale we got lucky. We had put out all of her old personalized things (purse, suitcase, art smock, wall peg rack, wooden puzzle, etc) & someone came along and bought all of it. Of course, a few week's later I found some things in her closet that we had missed but maybe that lady will be by again at our yard sale this weekend. :flower:
