What to do with leftover points that cannot use?

I had some points that were set to expire (banked from my resale purchase, really had no way to use them), and coincidentally I had made a complaint to DVC MS about our last stay (not hugely major, noise related), and MS offerred to move those expiring points into the next UY where I now have definite use of those points. Made me a very happy camper. Do you have anything to complain about?

As long as you are not taking advantage of the 11 month booking window to try to replace non-home resort points, MS should be able to help you.

On line booking is nice. But there are many reasons for us to still call MS and utilize their knowledge to best use our points. I would hate to see the CMs at MS eliminated because it appears members no longer need them. Call to see if there is someway to save your points.

Reallocation of points with a current reservation is probably your best bet or... buy another contract with the same UY and voila, you have more points to rent or use! You know you really want an excuse to buy more points anyway.

I am going yo have to cancel a weekend day then add a day to make up for points. Problem is weekends are more points than weekdays so I will have to let points go or ad two days and borrow from next years points. If you need me to use up your points give me a pm. It might be enough points to keep me from borrowing.

We have 37 left-over points for UY 2011. They haven't yet been banked, nor borrowed, but I can't rent them through the rental company because they require more than I have, and I don't have enough postings to rent them here.

I tried giving them to my cousin, who is also DVC, but with a baby due on the 29th of Feb, they, obviously, aren't in a situation to use them right now.

I feel badly letting them go, but I don't know what else to do!

Anyone have any suggestions?

I tried giving them to my cousin, who is also DVC, but with a baby due on the 29th of Feb, they, obviously, aren't in a situation to use them right now.

I feel badly letting them go, but I don't know what else to do!

Anyone have any suggestions?

I hate it that this happened, but we bought a new contract on resale, and then we booked our upcoming trip for as long as we could, with as many points as possible...and STILL have points leftover. Have NO idea how it happened, but I will cry if they simply just go away...

Bank them so you'll have options later or transfer them for payment.

This happened to us LAST year. We were going to Europe and were doing one of the DCL Med cruises so there were no trips to Disney World for us last year but we had like about 37 points to use that had been banked or something so they needed to be used by Nov. (we have a Dec UY). We ended up booking 3 nights in May for my BIL & SIL to take their 2 yr old for the first time. He is in the Army so they also booked a few nights at SOG first then they moved over to AKV in a studio for 3 nights. They LOVED it and it felt good to just give them the points to use rather than let them waste. I think we had to add like 2 or 3 points or something from this years points to go up from a Value studio to a Std. view studio.

ANYWAY, maybe you could offer to book a 3 or 4 night trip for someone in your family or for a co-worker as a gift? You can get a 3 night weekend in "Deam" season or a 4 night Sun-Thur stay in "Adventure" or "Choice" season in a AKV value studio. What a great gift (providing they can get themselves to FL)!! If there's nobody in your family or friends to give them to maybe you could make a reservation to donate for like a silent auction or something. You'd just need to specify the dates you could make the reservations for.
