What to do with left-over points?

Yeah uh... don't give them to youtubers please. I wish there was an option to "donate" them to Make a Wish or something that would be really nice.

The optimist: Some kid will get to go to a DVC resort/Disney for the first time in his/her life. Maybe they'll get enough donations for a weeklong stay. It'll be perfect.

The pessimist: Here kid. Here's 3 points to Disney. No you can't use them, but they're points to Disney. It came with a card.

Like the OP, we have a small amount of points where we could either rent out or we have the exact number of points to upgrade one of our split stay resorts to a better view. We have not decided yet what to do. Any advice?

I’m really glad I posted here and appreciate everyone’s advice. Yinn in particular, I really like your idea! I hadn’t looked at the math for renting and then using proceeds to pay for one-use points before. Makes complete sense.

I think I’d still prefer we use them ourselves to upgrade from our BLT studio to the larger rooms and nicer pool at VGF for a couple nights... so we’ll see if that’s an option come the seven month window. But if not, I’ll just bank them, and then transfer or rent them out as Yinn has suggested and save the cash. Doing that helps our small contract make that much more sense. We don’t have the means to go as often as some on here just because travel is so costly, so making every point count was pretty key to our decision to buy-in.

As long as you don't bank first, then you can transfer at any time to another owner. Once banked, then its renting only!

Can you use them for another night if you buy enough one time use points? Say you need 15 points to add another night to your stay. Use the 9 you have and then purchase 6 one time use points - then you can stay one more night. Even if it's not a park night - you aren't "losing" your points.

I forget the name, but there is a group on Facebook where you can donate points to laid off cast members. Although that may not be as much of an issue now with most being called back.
