Is there a FB group for this? I'm ordering water, baby supplies, snack packs, etc and I would hate to trash the remaining items. I would love to pass it on to another family.

Any ideas?

Leave them in the room maybe? The housekeeper may take them assuming they are allowed.

We gave our extra beer and wine to the resort neighbor (just couldn't drink all we bought). He looked like he won the lottery. The rest we just left in the room.

We have just found a family near our room and offered them water and drinks or left them in the room for mousekeeping with a note to please take.

We learn a twenty four pack was too much given the amount of time we're in the room. Four bottles of cheap wine nearly put us down each time we had a couple. Thank you garden grocer.

We leave any unopened items in the room. Housekeeping can take it. In fact we saw our housekeeper and told them it was there. I've tried to give stuff to others and they looked at me like I was in a van offering candy to children. The maids were very appreciative and I'd rather give it to them.

There's a facebook group for passing stuff on...hopefully it's okay to post here. I have just recently joined it, but they seem like very nice folks so far. They do organized swaps (like they do here for strollers and such) but also people post stuff to pass on like water, diapers, snacks, etc. when they are checking out. :)

We always offer to anyone in the Facebook group for our trip month. Drinks usually go quick.

Maybe I am in the minority but we were not thrilled with the leftovers that were waiting in our room. Mini bar sized bottles of booze and random snacks were left within reach of my very fast, very curious three year old.

Totally fine if you are directly giving it to your neighbor, mousekeeper, or random stranger of your choice but please don't just leave your stuff in the room for little bugs to find.

That's odd - had the room been cleaned otherwise, new sheets, towels, soaps, etc. I can't imagine a room being turned over to the next guest with the prior guests snacks, booze still there. Did you call the front desk or mousekeeping to ask them to clean it up?

We always have a few unopened snacks and bottles of water and Gatorade . I just put everything in a bag walk outside toward pool and give it to a family I see who looks nice

We give our left overs to our neighbors and leave the rest for mousekeeping. I over plan, over pack and over order groceries (can't seem to help myself), so I always have left over water, Gatorade, beer and snacks.

I am very happy to have someone else use them, as I really don't want to waste anything.

The beds were made, towels and toiletries out etc. But the room was not really clean. We did call the front desk to have it fixed, twice.

You can leave it in the room for as a treat for the Housekeeper that cleans your room after you checkout, Housekeepers are allowed to take unopened F&B items and they appreciate this just as much as they appreciate a small tip, in fact leave a note as well that way the Housekeeper knows for sure that you do not want it, otherwise it may end up in either Lost & Found or trash if it looks opened or used..

Wow!I've always thought the Housekeepers were not allowed to keep ANYTHING left in a room.

Great info-my Housekeepers will benefit greatly on my next trip with my leftovers!:)

Housekeeping should have disposed of any left over food from previous people.

Any opened water, etc I've offered to neighbours. Any open food/drink I put in trash.

Best to leave an explicit note to say that the Housekeeping is welcome to take the stuff. There are some resorts (not necessarily WDW) where the housekeeping staff cannot keep anything unless there is a note from the room's occupants.

Also, to the PP who argued that the refrigerator should have been emptied when the occupant left, we usually have yogurt, cheese, and other perishables in the fridge. If I am checking out at 8:00 in the morning and the room doesn't get cleaned until 3:00, it is much better for those items to be refrigerated than to be in a trash container attracting bugs and getting stinky.
