What to do with holding points?

Our vacation last week turned into a mini-disaster, mainly due to both of us coming down with food poisoning. Ended up having to check out of BCV at 7pm the evening before we were actually supposed to leave. The really nice surprise was, when I called this morning to book another trip, I found out they'd credited our points for the night we didn't stay! I didn't request it, didn't expect it, didn't even think about it. Had to ask MS how we ended up with 20 holding points on our account.

Anyway, they will expire on Feb. 1 and we aren't planning to go back before then. Do we have any options besides using them ourselves?

You can only use them to book a reservation 60 days out.

I know about the 60 day thing, but they expire 2/1/10 because they're 2009 points. If we aren't planning to go back before then, are there any other options to make use of them? Rent? Donate?

You can make a reservation and donate it to charity perhaps. Keep in mind this is not tax deductible, however.

It will be difficult to rent a reservation as mentioned above, there is a limit of making one only 60 days out. These are considered distressed points, and unless you can use them will not be of much value, I am afraid...
