What to do with design?

Wow-I've been looking through some of these t-shirt designs and I am in awe of your talent! I wanted to order my daughter a shirt for our trip on her birthday, but couldn't customize it in zazzle. So, my question is, if one of you very talented, creative disers here were to customize a design and post it or send it to me, then what do I do with it in order to make a shirt? Please explain in basic, never-made-a-t-shirt-before terms. Thanks!

After you find a design that you like. Right Click on image and select "save as" and save the image to your computer. (pay attention to where on your computer it is saving it to - so you can find it later). Then open the image in the program of your choice (Word, Paint, etc). Follow the directions included in your iron ons. You may need to flip the image depending on the transfer you choose. White transfers - all the white of the design will be the color of the shirt - fine if you are using a white tshirt. Recommended - Use dark transfers if you are not putting design on a white tshirt. Dark transfers do not normally need to be flipped but not all are the same. So again, read your directions.
