Hi. Any advice on what to do with the camera and dvd camera while on the beach at CC? We're just 2 adults, not sure what to do with them when we're in the water.

Also, anyone know if Aquaventures will let you have a waterproof camera with the strap around your wrist on the waterslides? I was able to have it around my wrist at Disney's waterparks which made some great memories while going down the slides.

Not sure about leaving the waterproof camera on your wrist but... I have been on CC many times when it was only 2 of us (adults)... We just normally leave our cameras in our bags or covered by our towels. No one will bother them!

We also leave them in a covered bag on the chairs, and fortunately, have never had a problem. Just do not leave them out in the open, as that is an iopen invitation.

My only suggestion would be to take lots more pictures than I did!!!

We, too, left ours in our bag on our chairs while we were swimming and had no problems. I just wish I had taken more pictures, but I was too busy off having fun!:cool2:

I have taken a waterproof to Atlantis and was never stopped from using it on the slides - HOWEVER - I have seen many reports say that people were stopped for bringing any jewelry (even small earings) on the slides. So they *may* keep you from taking a waterproof.

And as far as CC, I just left our good cameras on the ship and used my Olympus Waterproof. It never left my wrist...even when I was holding on for dear life onto a waverunner. :)

We left our good camera in our bag at the family beach with no issues, even while snorkling. We took a dispoable waterproof to use while snorkling.

I used a disposable on the slides at Atlantis.
I have proof ;) :

And personally we don't worry about our camera on CC. We just put it in our bag. We have a decent Canon IS and JVC camcorder...never any problems. I don't think they get too much of the regular-beachgoing-camera stealing riff-raff on CC....;)

I'm terrified that someone will take my camera and camcorder. I'm a single mom with 2 busy little girls and missed out on many photo ops last time because I was afraid to bring the good camera. This year, I have a plan....I bought a small back pack that has a zipper that locks. So I will be putting my cameras in the backpack, locking the backpack, and then putting that down inside my beachbag and all of it will be bicycle locked to the beach chair.
I know it's a bit extreme, but we only get to cruise once a year, and I'm not taking the chance at losing all of those memories because someone wants my camera...LOL

You're not being extreme, just cautious. It's rare but I have read of incidents in which people have had their stuff stolen on CC. We have a Canon camera with an u/w housing so it's always with us at CC but I HAVE buried a camera at the bottom of my bag while doing the slides at Atlantis and didn't have any problems but I tried to be discreet about it (I put the camera away long before we got to the spot where we set our beach bag in a lounge chair).

If I had my dSLR with me and didn't have someone with me who could keep an eye on it I'd be doing the same thing as you, too much $$ invested to take a chance with it (never mind the lost pictures).

We invested in a <$100 underwater digital 5mp camera that takes both stills and video. It may not take the quality of photos that our more expensive Canon does, but the quality has been good. We've been able to take it on the beach and in the water without issue, plus if someone did steal it, I'm not out big bucks. I'm not careless, but I'm also not as cautious as I might be with a more valuable camera.

We evaluated what we'd be taking photos of on water excursions and beaches and determined that this camera would suit our needs as a second camera. If we were going to the beach or into the water, we left the Canon in the room safe.

I just left mine zipped in a beach bag on our chair. I covered the chair with the towels and floats.
