We are doing 1 day at AK, staying at AKL, then will be going on a Disney cruise, my question is this-the day we leave I understand DCL transport will probably pick us up around 11. What should we do with those hours? Could we make it to a meal at one of the parks? We will have 4 y/o, first time at WDW. Thank you!

They're picking you up at 11am. I'd say just walk around the resort and enjoy the sites. I'd not want to get up xtra early to rush to a meal.
Perhaps just a relaxing morning... that's what we d don't after a day in the park the day before and a long first day on the first cruise day
Enjoy

I had Boma down if we eat at AK :) looks amazing. Hanging out around the resort is probably the best plan, the boarding process is tiring.

We went on a whim in '12 when we stayed at Kidani. I was really impressed by the quality, variety and execution. Plenty of stuff for the kids too.

I'm jealous! I keep trying to get us to go back to AKL but it never works out. Its such a fun resort with fantastic pools.

BOMA FOR BREAKFAST and then if you have time, look around the resort, visit the animals. You will find the time passing very quickly.

There is definitely PLENTY to do at Animal Kingdom Lodge to pass a morning. They have a nice playground and pool at Jambo house and an even nicer pool over at Kidani. The cast members have planned cultural activities and there are always animals out and about. I would recommend that route. If you are really itching for a character breakfast then I would go with Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary. You could get there by taking the magic kingdom busses. If you ate in a park you would need to purchase park admission which seems a waste just for breakfast.

I agree. Book Boma for breakfast (it is delicious) and just hang out at AKL. It is a beautiful resort.
