What to do with a broken pin?

I have a pin that I planned on putting on my traders list (pin number 12331), but when I pulled it off my lanyard today, I realized that one of the black squares on the soccer ball (the one on the front and center - the most obvious one, of course!) has come off. What can I do with this pin? Can I still use it to trade with CM's, or is this considered an un-tradable pin? I'd hate to just throw away this (or any!) pin. Suggestions?

I use my defective pins as push pins at work.

That way they bring a little Disney magic. And if they ever turned up missing -- Oh well. (Like they would anyway. )
But you don't want to put defective pins on a CM lanyard.
