I got a really great deal on Prego Spaghetti Sauce. They are on sale for $1.67. I had a manufacturer's coupon for $1 off 3. I aslo printed the Target online coupons for $1 off 2. So, I got 6 jars for $5.02, which is .84 cents a jar. So, besides spaghetti, what else can I make with Prego Traditional Spahetti Sauce?

I use it in lasagna and large shells stuffed with ricotta cheese.

A big lasagna takes a few jars, or hallupcies (not sure how to even spell that). I also make home made meatballs & simmer them in 2-3 jars of sauce. Sauce will be fine in your pantry for a long time, just save it up! Or donate a few jars to a local food bank.

mmmmmmmmm

Meatball subs....my family loves them.

monkey pizza bread...another favorite

Spaghetti
Lasagna
Ravioli
Meatball subs
Chicken/eggplant Parmesan
Pizza subs
Dipping sauce for bread

I make the ziti with meat sauce, put it in a cassarole dish and spread mozzeral, and any other cheese I have, a sharp grated, chedder, and bake until melted.

Anothe thing is when I find the brad sticks. or I would try the pizza roll out Pillsbury in the pop can slice in strips bake half way and the layers spices and mozzerella, pepperoni and then use the sauce to cover or dip this has become a recent winner in our home.

Also bread dough in our bread maker to the knead point and the raise in a cookie tray fork holes and sauce, cheese toppings. I love a veggie one, some like mexican flavor or all meats.

I agree the meatball. I put one in the slow cooker with a jar of sauce and bought club rolls and it was cleaned up./

Anotther is bags of gnocci, or ravioli frozen add sauce after cooked.
Add meatballs or sausage.

We always have at least 6 jars in the pantry. dh is nuts stocking up I have 9 boxes scalloped potatoes, 8 stove top stuffing, 12 cans of chicken noodle soup, 12 cans baked beans several chile style and white beans. 4 lg chicken broth, 4 cans lg beef broth, 2 bgs sugar, 3 flour, three pbjs each, 3 mayo, 4 catchup, numerous veggies, tamato sauces and diced tomatoes. tons of pasta,

Just for some. I have a soup pantry and no funds to buy the meats.

You can add beef broth, vegetables, pasta, and beans for an easy minestrone.

Look at the pull dates. You should have at least six months before they have to be used. That's only one jar per month.

Wow what a great deal... I will be checking the target website right now!!!!

My suggestions would be what the PP have said

Pour it over chicken parmeson.
Dip chicken breasts (boneless, skinless) in a mixture of milk and egg, then dip in seasoned bread crumbs (or plain). Fry in a tiny bit of oil (I use olive), put a slice of provalone cheese on top of each when cooked, and pour sauce over top. We love this dish.

These recipes sound GREAT!!! Today I made the easiest casserole. You need:
One jar of Prego sauce
One jar of Water
One box of penne pasta (16 oz)
2 Cups monterey jac ( I put more)

Preheat oven to 450. Mix sauce, water and penne in a baking dish and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil, add cheese and bake for another 10 minutes. Yummy!!:woohoo:

okay...dumb question...so you do not have to pre-boil the noodles bc/ of the water? I'm definitely trying this!

I use jar sauce to make english muffin pizzas for the kids when they come home from school.

Lay out the English muffins on a cookie sheet or paper plate.

The best place to cook the English muffin pizzas are a toaster oven because the cheese will melt smoothly and the English muffin will come out crispy. If you do not own a toaster oven, a regular oven will work fine. Pre-heat either to 425 degrees.

Scoop out a tablespoon full of sauce onto each English muffin.

Use the back side of the spoon to evenly coat the pizza sauce across the English muffin.
Put some grated cheese (I use Locatelli or Parm)

Place shredded cheese (any kind, but mozzarella or a mix works best) and lightly coat all of the English muffins until you cannot see any more grated cheese/sauce.

Add any topping that you would like, from pepperoni and ham to a veggie.

If using a toaster oven, place them inside 2 to 4 at a time. Let them cook for about 5 to 10 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and pull them out to cool off.
If you are using an oven, you can put as many on a cookie sheet as you can and heat them for around fifteen minutes or until the cheese looks fully melted.

It won't use all that much sauce but it's something different & you can freeze what you don't use for future "pizzas".

Meatloaf and chicken parmesan!

Chicken parmesan is one of our favorites - I used the round breaded chicken breasts - cook them for 3 minutes in the microwave - take them out a spoonful of prego, parmesan cheese back in for 30 seconds then serve over spaghetti - everyone loves it and it is easy for me!

one of the best things to do with the sauce in place either boneless skinless thighs or chicken breasts in the crock pot, cover weith the sauce and cook on low allday. you can serve it with noodles...kids love it:yay:

Nope, just toss it all in!! It all cooks in the oven. This is one BUDGET friendly dinner!! DH liked it so much, he wants me to make it for the potluck at work.:woohoo: That's 2 jars gone!!

Not really a recipe, but after moving here I had to laugh when I discovered what prego means. It has multiple meanings such as "May I help you" and "After you". Got an equal chuckle out of "Ragu" spaghetti sauce. Ragu means a meated sauce. I showed both to my Italian friend and she laughed.
