I am a new DVC member trying to figure out what to do with 2 leftover points that cannot be carried over into another use year. Is there a way to rent or sell those?

I faced this dilemma (except that it was 6 points). I wish there were a way we could gift these points back to DVC, who could "magically" group the points into a useable reservation to gift a deserving family (ALA Make a Wish or something similar). Sadly, I don't think there's a real thing you can do, so unfortunately, the points usually just get forgotten/lost.

You need enough points to book one night...only way to do that would be to buy OTU points to add to the two you have.

I'd look at the fact that they are worth about $30 on the rental market (total), and then tell myself $30 isn't worth any more of my time worrying about it. Move on, and start planning/looking forward to next year's trip.

This has happened to me a couple times. If there's no way to bank it and it's not enough to book a reservation, there's not much you can do. I don't even think you can transfer it to another member. Just try to be a little bit better with your accounting next year. Make your plans and bank anything that's left over.
