Do most people hold their babies or use some type of carrier? I know the stroller is not allowed on line & I don't want DH and I to have to hold DD if it is not necessary. It would be great if there was something we could buy that would hold a child her size at that point. She is already over 12 lbs at 4.5 months! I have a Snugli and a Baby Bjorn, but I've never used the Bjorn. Wouldn't she be too old for it at that point? TIA!

I would recommend a baby sling. They usually hold up to 30 pounds and you can manuver in into different positions. I used it with my youngest daughter until she was 2 1/2. It was very comfortable to wear for a couple hours at a time. We would just tuck it into the stroller basket when we weren't in line.

We're going to WDW later this month with my 11 month old DD. She's only about 15 pounds right now - she's tiny - but I *love* my Baby Bjorn. It's probably the best purchase we've made for her. I use it for grocery shopping or going to the warehouse club/home store so we don't have to worry about her in the cart. She's a gem when she's in it. We're taking it with us to WDW and I'm planning on using the Baby Bjorn for her on the rides just so I don't have to worry about her trying to climb out of the ride vehicles! She doesn't quite walk yet, so we'll probably carry her either in the BB or in our arms (there will be 4 adults to share the duty) while we're in lines.

I'm pretty sure the Baby Bjorn's good for pretty high weight limit, and the length limit is up to 35 inches, though personally I think my DD's 28 inches is starting to push it for length. But we feel it was well worth the nearly $80 we spent, and if she still fits into it when you go, I'd definately take it.

Mur!

If you're going at a slow time of the year, your lines won't be that long. We took DS for is 1st birthday and only had the stroller. We went in February (president's week) and DH had him sit on his shoulders a few times, but other than than we carried him. The line waiting isn't that long compared to the walking around the parks.

Personally I've never been one for the carriers. It seems like a waste of time to transfer between stroller/carrier and back again. If you take the carrier and try it for the first day and see how it goes, you'll then know if you want to keep using it or you can leave it in the room.

DH was more upset about hauling the stroller on and off the bus than carrying DS in a few lines! :D

For our trip in December we had both a backpack carrier and a stroller for our 15 mo. old son. We used both. My son prefers the backpack, but I brought the stroller, hoping he would fall asleep in the parks. (That NEVER happened. He didn't nap ONCE!) He was often in the stroller during lunch and snack times, or while waiting for his Dad and brother (3 1/2) while they were enjoying the "bigger" rides. There were a few other times he enjoyed sitting back in the stroller while we explored the parks, but for the most part preferred the carrier. Fortunately, the stroller didn't go to waste as my 3 1/2 year old often got tired and needed a "ride".

When we weren't using the backpack, I stored it in the basket under the stroller. It was very easy and not as much of a hassle as you might think. (I didn't bring the Baby Bjorn, as my husband prefers the backpack carrier, and DS has pretty much outgrown it.) DS loves, loves riding on his Dad's back -- it's a big thrill for him -- and he gets bored in the stroller after a while. A few times we left the stroller at the resort and just used the carrier. It was much easier to get around (especially getting on and off the buses) without having to lug the stroller.
