Just booked our two kids into the Grand Adventures in Cooking from 10am - noon. We're not staying at GF (we're at AKL) and are not avid shoppers. Wondering if anyone has any good ideas of how we can kill the time while waiting for them. We don't want to go to MK as this is one of our 'non-park' days (we only have 4 days worth of passes left and they are all accounted for on this trip). Any good ideas??:D

HappyDays, you could get a bite to eat from the GF's 24-hour snack bar and eat it outside at the marina. It is lovely there. Or you could take your meal over to one of the swimming pools and dine there. Again, the GF is such a gorgeous resort, especially its grounds. I sometimes just like sitting in its enormous lobby and people watch. At other times, I have read a magazine (either inside or outside the resort).

I have some photos posted of the Grand Adventures In Cooking Class here: Janet2k's On-Line Photo Albums

Or you could go "resort hopping"-- jump on the monorail and visit the Polynesian and the Contemporary. Every trip I wished I had taken more time to visit other resorts, but we're always in such a rush I never have. Hope you kids have fun in their class!

Your kids will have lots of fun! Enjoy the opportunity to visit the Grand Cafe or Gasparillas (fast food). People-watching in the lobby is also enjoyable. I wouldn't wander too far since you don't want to be late when the kids arrive outside the Grand Cafe. They are so adorable - great time for a video camera, too.

I enjoy wandering around the grounds of the Grand Floridian since they are so lovely. There is a more secluded balcony that you could visit. As you go up the large stairs to the second floor, the balcony doors are on the right side. The balcony overlooks the new pool.

Are you adventurous - how about renting some water mice for a buzz around the lagoon? The view of the MK is so different from directly out at the water.

You could relax while strolling over to the Poly - walking along the lagoon, maybe stopping by to check out the wedding pavillion.

Has anyone tried out the spa while their kids were in Grand Adventures in Cooking? Is there enough time?

HappyDays, I have heard of some folks doing that. You need to make an appointment and arrange everything ahead of time with the GF Spa. Let them know exactly how much time you have (that is, tell them your daughter will be attending the GF's children's cooking class and thus timing is important).
