What to do while DH and DD spend time at a convention?

YEAH!!!! Mom (me) gets a whole afternoon and evening to do what she wants. Problem???? What does Mom want to do?

We're going to be in Orlando April 16-23. On the 16th DH and DD are going to an Anime Convention. Other than that we are going to MK and Epcot. Also spending 3 days at US/IOA.

I've thought to just bum around and check out the trinkets and trash shops on I-drive and Bronson. I've also thought about hitting MGM by myself.

Any one else have a good idea for me that day?

We haven't spent a week in Orlando since 1999. In 2000 we discovered cruising so we've just gone to 1 park before the cruise that last few years. I'm really looking forward to real park time this year.

I wandered MGM by myself one time and loved it - especially if you're not planning to do it otherwise. Another choice might be wandering World Showcase - all those shops and snacks and no one trying to rush you along might be pretty cool!

My DH plays golf and so I usually have several hours to myself in the parks each trip. I usually just do whatever the mood is. I know this probably won't help you lots. MGM is one of my favorites to do solo as is AK. I love taking pics, often of "odd" things, and can take my time and shoot at will. I also spend time doing the attractions that DH doesn't particularly care for - Little Mermaid.
Anyway, enjoy your solo time and have fun!

I've never gone solo, but I would choose MGM as well. I would ride Tower of Terror as many times as I possibly could LOL. I love the atmosphere of MGM. Have fun whatever you do.

Well, there's the spa and tea at the GF - I'll be doing that and horseback riding while DBF plays golf.
If I had a car, I might be persuaded to go over to the Belz Designer outlet.

I second touring the world showcase. That is one area that is so hard to tour with others, different interests or whatever. I think that would be awesome.

The Day Spa at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando is phenomenal!!!! Check out their website, and reserve a few treatments to pamper yourself... you deserve it!

Why not take a 1/2 day tour. Hidden Treasures of World Showcase is nice. When DH and I took this tour, there was just three of us, plus the tour guide....DH, me and another lady whose DH was at a convention that day!

Start out at MGM then take the boat over to Epcot World Showcase (they don't open til later anyway). Have a nice lunch or drinks at one of the wonderful eateries in World Showcase and stroll around. I have done it when DH was in Convention in Dolphin. I loved it. I sat in Morocco and had lunch at the Tangerine in Morocco and sat and people watched in France while drinking wine. It was sunny and beautiful and a wonderful day. This was of course BC (before children).
