I will be travelling to orlando for a week with my girlfriend on the 25th and as we are only 18 we will not be bale to rent a car, while taxis and buses are no problem to the parks and around the resort we are worried about trying to pick up taxis after the parks close in the evenings which can take us back to our hotel!!! Our hotel is on IDrive. Is there taxi ranks in disney??? Do you need to book??? Any reccomended firms???

Have been so many times but have never needed them before and have not looked!!!!!!!!!

Cheers, chris

You can arrange taxi and shared ride transportation through Mears -- http://www.mearstransportation.com/ -- but any cost savings from staying on I-drive will quickly disappear when the taxi meter starts running.

Perhaps you should reconsider your I-drive hotel and stay on site at a Value or Moderate WDW resort.

Hi,

Horace made two great points.

I'd seriiously consider a value resort at disney or a downtown disney hotel or try Priceline for a resort for your days.

If you don't want to change hotels, you might also want to see if there is transportation provided from your resort. Even if you have to pay for the shuttle service, it will be less than taxis.

Back in early 98 a taxi to the Magic Kingdom was $26 one way!!!
