Help! We will be arriving on Dec. 3rd. I'm trying to think of something to do as a surprise for my family. It will be me, DH, DD, DM and DS. We already have ADR's made, and tix for Mickey's X-mas party. I'm not even sure of what I'd like to do. I know that there are a whole bunch of clever people on the DIS. Big ideas, small ideas, it doesn't matter. Anything different that you can throw my way would be great.

Are you flying in?
If you are, maybe you could take a Limo from the airport to your hotel.

We are doing this in Dec as a surprise for the kids (actually the whole trip is a surprise).
Stretch limo round trip from the airport to our resort is about $200.
Sounds pricey but they will meet you at the airport with a sign with your families name (just like the big stars) and most will do a stop at a grocery store on the way so yu can pick up bottled water, breakfast items etc...

No waiting in line for your bus. No waiting for your luggage to get to the room with DME service.

Most are already listed although in numerous posts here on the DIS.

1. Character breakfast (CRT, Breakfastasauras, etc.)
2. Watersports (parasailing, watermice speedboats)
3. Fireworks cruises (may already be too late to call for December)
4. Carriage ride at WL
5. Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island (not for little ones)
6. Ice Cream Social with Chip and Dale (oh yeah they cancelled that :confused3 )
7. Ride in front of monorail (just ask if you've never done it)
8. Call WDW and ask them for ideas.

I'm sure others will add. Have a magical trip, the wife and I will be there the 8-18th of Dec. staying at ASP and Contemporary! :teeth: It's our first time back since we were engaged there in January of 04. Here's hoping it's not too :cold:

Have www.disneyflorist.com send a snack gift bag to the room with ballons. My DD's loved getting all the Mickey snacks. They carried them around in their hip packs and thought they were special!

If you got alot of ressies for food, the Hoop Dee Do is a must for first timers, great show, great food, best chicken and strawberry shortcake on site. Some think its corny but after 30 visits, we never miss the show, laugh, eat, drink and be merry and its at Fort Wilderness, alittle quaint, out of the way place, campers area, nice boat ride from WL or Cr or Poly, watch the EWP from the beach around 9:30 pm, check times. They have a settlement outpost for sundries, salami bread etc plus different souveniors there. We also go to Crocketts Tavern, next to Pioneer Hall where the HDD is held, for some great pizza and beer, our first stop or night after arriving, this is our " We're at Disney World" evening.

I booked a parasail for my dad when he turned 50. I knew he'd never do it, but he always talked about it, so i just booked it for him. We had an awesome time.
When we went at Christmas, I went on to Disney Florist and got him one of the Mickey Stockings as a surprise. And that same trip my Dad got my sister a Pal Mickey as a surprise since she had been asking for one.
If there's anything the kids have been talking about, but don't normally get to do is something that usually works!
Also, if you have girls that have never gotten a hair wrap, it is another great surprise.

Good Luck!
