Sorry this is long. I just don't know what to do! We planned on a 5 night trip to OKW in December. We haven't been around Christmas in a long time. Then DH finds out on our departure day, he needs to go to Dallas on business. He says the kids and I should stay for three extra days and he will fly back to MCO and then fly home with us. Twist my arm! Well, nothing is going right. Airfare is a higher then I want but DH thinks I should just book it. The kids and I would have to leave our OKW 2 bedroom when DH leaves and move into a studio for 2 nights. I am currently waitlisted for the 3rd night in the studio or all 3 nights in a 2 bedroom. If that doesn't come through, the kids and I will have to move offsite for the last night. This seems like such a hassle with a 5 and 7 year old. I am getting ready to throw in the towel.

We are going in January for a week so it isn't like we have to wait that much longer if we don't go in December. We could add a week onto our January trip to make up for not going in December. Or, we could cancel this December and book at 11 months out for next December and not have the hassle of switching rooms, etc. We are planning on going to HH in May, also. So, what would you do? I guess I just hate when everything doesn't fall into place and this seems like it isn't! Thanks for any opinions.

Cancel it.

Why deal with the relocating when DH isn't around? Vacations are for relaxing - not for making 2 or 3 moves in a week. You can always go back and not be hassled, On your move days, you'd need to check out early and then check in later - seems like you'd be scheduling a good portion of those days just moving. Not worth it in my mind.

Stay at home, relax, kick back, enjoy the holidays.

It may be some hassle, but might be worth it. You don't say when you're going in January, but since they pretty much start taking down all the Christmas decorations right after New Year's, you'd probably miss all that.

And Christmas time at Disney is very special. And in my opinion worth it even if you do have to move.

It's really that third night that's the problem. If your wait-list comes through and you get the studio, then definitely do it. Even though you have to check out by 11:00 and can't check in until 4:00, there's nothing to keep you from leaving earlier, leaving your luggage with bell services, and going to the park for the day. I'm assuming DH will be taking at least one bag of luggage with him, so you can decide how much luggage there is for you and the kids and how much hassle it will be to move it.

If you can't get the 3rd night and have to go off site, then the 'hassle' factor skyrockets. That makes it a lot tougher decision. Making 1-move in 8-days doesn't sound too bad. Making 2-moves in 2-days is another story.

Whatever you decide, have a great time.

Since we are seasoned DVC members, I would opt for making 11 month ressies for next December and extending your trip in January. It makes more "sense" and will be less hassle.
